Early Romance, Confirmed Gifts, and First-Date Requirements

First-date requirement: Reach four hearts with an eligible resident, talk to them, choose Invite, then Ask on Date. Sleep after sending the invitation. The pickup scene starts automatically when the next night opens at 6 p.m.

If the option is missing, do not spend the whole night chasing a portrait around Moonlight Peaks like a bat trapped in a lampshade. Four hearts are the standard threshold, but a waiting heart scene or a character-specific story gate may need to be cleared first. Check for a sparkling heart or event marker, then enter the marked building or area. Resident routines can change with the weekday, season, weather, festival, or quest, so use a map icon to find the right area—not to promise an exact standing spot.

How Friendship Becomes Dating

  1. Reach four hearts. Talking and giving gifts raise the bond shown in the relationship menu.
  2. Clear the waiting heart scene. If a heart sparkles or the map marks an event, visit that location before trying again.
  3. Find the resident. Use their map icon to identify the current area or building, then look inside.
  4. Select Invite > Ask on Date. The date does not begin at once.
  5. Finish the night and sleep. This schedules the pickup.
  6. Start the next night. The pickup scene begins at 6 p.m. and moves you to the resident's chosen activity.

Finishing the first date changes the resident's status to Dating, even after a poor activity result. A successful activity awards relationship points. Dating also adds a daily Kiss option under Give. Some activities send you home with an item, including a custom bouquet from flower arranging.

How to Read Gift Reactions

Open the relationship menu and highlight a resident after giving them an item. The Previously Gifted row remembers the last eight gifts. A heart means loved, a star means liked, no marker means neutral, and an X means disliked or hated. Trust those icons over a dramatic delivery; supernatural families are not known for restrained theater.

These are tested starter reactions, not guesses based on clothing, jobs, species, or family ties.

Tip: If a gift earns an X, switch to a listed liked or loved item on your next visit. One gloomy exchange does not bury the route. Carry a small gift stack before leaving the farm so the storage menus do not eat half your social round.

Do Dialogue Choices Change the Relationship?

Do not treat every choice as a hidden heart exam. In Luna's Hug a Tree event, accepting makes you join her at the tree; declining changes the immediate scene. No item, relationship-status change, or separate point result is shown for either branch.

In Floral Artistry, choosing Wild Harmony or Serene Elegance decides which bouquet Luna mails the following day. That is a reward branch: the bouquet changes, while no separate relationship-status or fixed point change is shown.

Date activities use scoring instead. Follow a partner's requested bouquet colors or marshmallow doneness when the activity asks for them. A successful result awards relationship points, while a failed result can remove points. Either result still establishes Dating status after the first date. Listen first, then unleash the romantic craft supplies.

Invite Only One Person at a Time

Patch-sensitive observation: Moonlight Peaks allows several dating relationships, but multiple invitations sent during one night can stack in an untracked queue. In a tested two-invitation stack, the most recently invited resident arrived first and the earlier invitation carried into the following night. There is no visible invitation list, which is how a cozy date plan turns into gothic calendar warfare.

  1. Invite one resident.
  2. Sleep after the invitation.
  3. Complete the 6 p.m. pickup and date on the next night.
  4. Check that the relationship menu now says Dating.
  5. Only then invite the next resident.

If invitations are already stacked, let the next nights begin one at a time and note who arrives. Do not assume the order beyond the observed newest-first behavior. A festival or required start-of-night scene can postpone a pickup; if that happens, sleep normally and check the following night instead of assuming the invitation vanished.

Spoiler: Samael's special romance gate

Story requirement: Unlock Luna Bay and meet the Hosu family, completing A Curious Passage and The Mysterious Bay on the way. Complete Bride's Attendant Duty, wait one in-game week for Orlock's home visit, then complete Unfinished Business. Samael's relationship panel will expand beyond its early four-heart cap.

This section covers early gifts, heart events, and first-date behavior. It does not treat any romance route as complete until marriage and post-marriage events have been checked separately.
