A Bridge Too Far Walkthrough: Reach Misty Shores

Requirement and exact trigger: Complete Meet the Townsfolk by meeting 5 vampires, 4 witches, 4 werewolves, and 3 seers. While finishing those introductions, speak with Fiona and hear her admit that she cursed the Ambrosia bridge. Sleep, then enter Moonlight Peaks town. The cutscene with Orlock, Mina, and Evan at the blocked southern bridge is what adds A Bridge Too Far to your journal (quest log). Orlock's Wine Scheme can still be active; it does not have to be finished first.

If you have looped the purple paths until every staircase looks like the same staircase in a tiny hat, stop chasing colors. This route uses three steady landmarks: The Broken Lamp on the east waterfront, Fiona's house immediately left of Luna's farm in Moonlit Pines, and the broad wooden bridge on the south waterfront.

What to Bring

RequirementWhy You Need It
Meet the Townsfolk completeThis clears the story gate for the bridge cutscene.
350 coins in your balanceYou spend your own coins at The Broken Lamp. Mina reimburses the full 350 later.
Time for two sleepsThe launch sequence includes a full wait day after payment. No tool, spell, mana, or friendship level is listed for this quest.

Ordered Quest Solution

  1. Talk to Orlock. After the bridge cutscene, find him seated on the waterfront bench near The Broken Lamp. Choose the quest dialogue about apologizing to Fiona. He storms into the bar.
  2. Go to The Broken Lamp. From Town Hall, descend the main stairs into town and head east toward the water. The Broken Lamp is the tavern on the east waterfront. Go inside and speak to Orlock again; agree to settle his debt.
  3. Pay 350 coins to Samael. Talk to Samael at the bar and pay Orlock's debt from your current balance. Then speak to Orlock once more and tell him the tab is cleared.
  4. Wait for Orlock to apologize. Sleep to advance the story. The launch route uses one full wait day, so Mina normally arrives at your farm after the second sleep following payment. She tells you Orlock is ready and reimburses the 350 coins.
  5. Meet Mina at Fiona's house in Moonlit Pines. From Town Hall, go west into Moonlit Pines and head for Luna's seed cart and farm. Fiona's house is immediately west, or left, of Luna's farm. Enter Moonlit Pines and continue toward Fiona's home to trigger the apology scene with Mina and Orlock.
  6. Ask Noel for help. Speak to Noel and choose the bridge quest dialogue. If he is not outside, check his schedule and nearby interiors instead of sweeping every purple path.
  7. Ask Luna for help. Use Luna's seed cart and farm in Moonlit Pines as your landmark, then choose the bridge quest dialogue when you find her.
  8. Ask Sabrina for help. Enter Webb of Wonders in town, speak with Sabrina, and choose the bridge quest dialogue.
  9. Go to the Cursed Bridge. Return to the east waterfront near The Broken Lamp and follow the waterfront path south to the broad wooden bridge. Make sure the journal shows only “Go to the Cursed Bridge,” then enter town and approach the bridge. Fiona, Noel, Luna, and Sabrina gather for the ritual. The curse fog clears, the bridge becomes passable, and the quest achievement appears.

When the Bench Says “Sit” Instead of “Talk”

Patch-sensitive workaround: Orlock's talk target can compete with the bench's seat target. Back away until the prompt clears, then approach slowly from his left side and pause when the interaction prompt switches to Orlock. Press the button once while his prompt is steady. If “Sit” returns, back away and change your angle or distance before trying again. This narrow-target workaround can help, but it is not guaranteed to solve every platform-specific bug.

If Orlock still will not target, leave town and return before trying a fresh angle. If the rest of the controls work, finish the night and sleep before closing the game. Moonlight Peaks saves at the end of the day when you sleep, so note your last completed sleep and how much work is still unsaved. Try an area reload and a new night before restarting. Do not delete the save or start over for this bench problem.

If the Quest Still Will Not Advance

  • No Mina visit: Confirm that “Pay Orlock's debt to Samael” is gone and that you spoke to Orlock after paying. Complete the wait day, sleep again, and leave the farmhouse.
  • A helper did not count: Open the journal. Speak again to whichever name—Noel, Luna, or Sabrina—still appears, and choose the bridge quest dialogue.
  • No ritual: Confirm that the only objective left is “Go to the Cursed Bridge.” Leave town, re-enter, and follow the east waterfront south to the wooden bridge.
  • The ritual played, but the path still looks blocked: Reload the area, then test the middle of the bridge instead of its side rail. Treat this as a recovery step, not a guaranteed fix.

What A Bridge Too Far Unlocks

Unlock requirement: Misty Shores is not accessible until the curse-lifting ritual clears the bridge. After the completion cutscene, the southern route opens these areas and activities:

  • Misty Shores: the coastal region and shoreline routes beyond the bridge.
  • Ambrosia Estate: the Ambrosia mansion and its grounds.
  • Ambrosia Graveyard.
  • Moonlight Tower.
  • Cave of Echoes: the cave west of Ambrosia Mansion on the far-left side of Misty Shores. It opens the main early mining route. A basic Rusty Pickaxe can mine Copper Ore; a Copper Pickaxe is required for Iron Ore; and an Iron Pickaxe is required for later Gold Ore. The cave also contains fishing spots and shovel dig spots.
  • Vampster rescue collection: this does not begin at the bridge itself. Enter the Cave of Echoes and meet Alina to start returning roaming Vampsters to their cave home.
  • Minor system spoiler — Death, the Net, and Soul Blobs: opening Misty Shores makes the first graveyard encounter with Death available. A later town scene gives you the Net and opens bug catching and Soul Blob collection. The Net is a follow-on unlock, not a reward handed out at the bridge.

Crossing the bridge gives you access to those resources; it does not place bars or upgraded tools in your inventory. Empty a few bag slots before the first cave trip. The storage menus already feel like filing taxes in a crypt, so there is no need to learn that lesson while standing over your first copper pile.
