Knight Recruitment, Base Stats, Traits, and Preferences
The quest card says diplomacy, your knight has enough Charisma to charm a drawbridge, and the result still arrives wrapped in failure and armor damage. Welcome to Sovereign Tower, where hidden traits are already doing royal arithmetic before anyone bothers to tell you they exist. Use the roster below to check the whole knight: base stats, traits, preferences, equipment locks, and timeline state.
This reference covers PC patch 1.0.9, current on August 17, 2026. Base stats are listed as Strength / Agility / Charisma / Magic / Wits / Luck before level-ups and equipment. The game contains 24 recruitable knights across its branches, but mutually exclusive routes mean one timeline cannot seat all 24 lovable complications at the same Round Table.
How Hidden Information Works
Known traits appear when a knight joins. Hidden traits are active from the moment of recruitment even while their names remain concealed. Raise affinity and use free-time conversations to uncover character information. Read quest results because a debrief can reveal a trait or show that a story-key trait caused an Unexpected Outcome. Once the Intendancy is open, Alwena can investigate one knight per cycle and reveal one eligible rumor or preference. A dagger symbol (†) below marks information she can uncover. Feeding a favorite meal also records that taste permanently.
Trait matches add or remove quest score unless a different effect is stated. Preferences work differently: a liked quest type or condition gives about +1.33 affinity, while a disliked one costs about 0.75. Favorite meals give +1.5 affinity and a +0.5 quest-score bonus for that cycle. Ruler styles—Kind, Wise, Audacious, Tyrannic, and Omniscient—change affinity through matching audience choices.

Spoilers — Knight Evolution and Exclusive States
| Knight | Route | Exact change |
|---|---|---|
| Arron | Kind: while Neutral, send him on Stop the Baby Dragon or Tame the Baby Dragon. Taking the dragon egg in his dialogue also queues the change after his next completed quest. | STR +1, CHA +3, MAG +5, WIT +1; gains Baby Dragon and Dragon Knight; loses Timid. |
| Arron | Violent: obtain a Dragon Heart, unlock Strange Draconic Ritual, and complete it with Arron. | On patch 1.0.9, STR +2 and AGI +1; gains Brutal and loses Timid. The former CHA and MAG gains no longer apply. This excludes the Kind state. |
| Dulahan | Human body: send him to Political Prisoner Fighting. | CHA +3, WIT +3, and +1 maximum armor. |
| Dulahan | Cursed helmet: complete New Vessel for Dulahan. | STR +3, AGI +3, MAG +3, CHA −7, and WIT −7. The body states are exclusive. |
| Goberto | Almor armor: send him to The Great Duel without having completed Fight the Dragon as the second tournament trial. | STR +2, AGI +2, CHA +5, MAG +4, LCK +4. Maximum armor rises from 7 to 17, then to 18/19/20 at levels 5/10/15. Perfect Armour makes allies take no quest damage while Goberto absorbs his share plus 75% of each ally’s share. |
| Gwendan | Reformed: remove him from the Round Table and make him repay his own debt. He returns five cycles later. | STR +2, WIT +1, CHA +1; loses Noble Soul, Arrogant, Fear of the Dark, and In Debt; gains True Noble Soul, which reads all faction impacts. His three harmful special outcomes are disabled. |
| Gwendan | Debt paid: pay his 350-gold debt yourself. | Removes In Debt but keeps his pride-related traits. This does not provide the Reformed changes. |
| Oliver | Complete Oliver’s Magic Degree. | MAG +8, raising his base Magic from 3 to 11. |
| Ursula | Let her die and recruit her again through Immortal. Her third death completes the normal corruption path; her special Kingslayer result can set full corruption immediately. | From the first death onward, armor is halved each cycle and leveling stops. At full corruption she gains STR +4 and MAG +6, but loses AGI −4, CHA −15, and WIT −15. |
Recovering a Missing Recruit
If the expected candidate never appears, check the branch before blaming the throne. Brunhilda and Tarcus come from opposite Gavault routes. Silgur needs the normal Groveshire victory, while Angelica’s special result on Almor’s Fight the Werewolf leads to The Wolf. Oliver must survive the introduction, and Dulahan requires Goberto’s death. Alwena’s zero-available-knight offer is both Act 2+ and one-time.
For a blocked character route, rewind to the audience or quest immediately before that split and change only the required condition. Do not rewind an entire act first. If a hidden trait is ruining assignments, stop sending the knight into the same bad condition, use Alwena’s next investigation, and serve a favorite meal while you rebuild affinity. A failed timeline is still useful foreknowledge—and assembling the kingdom’s strangest possible Round Table is half the glory of Sovereign Tower.
