Leaderboard Rules: Normal, Lowest Loops, and Infinity

You clear round 12, your tiny scoring machine is humming, and Continue looks like the obvious number-go-up button. Then your normal result never reaches its board. In The Loopler version 1.0.2, normal leaderboard scores are submitted only when you choose Settle after round 12. Choose Continue and the run changes into an Infinity attempt instead.

Choose the objective before building

The full-release interface separates normal boards by the selected track and difficulty. Your car changes how you build, but the normal board selector does not ask you to choose a separate car board. Daily and weekly challenges use the setup and leaderboard objective shown on the active challenge card. Infinity has one separate board for the fewest rounds needed to reach Infinity.

Board or settingWhat it measuresHow to finish the attempt
Top ScoresYour submitted score for the selected normal track and difficulty. This is a score board, not a Loops Made board.Clear round 12 and choose Settle.
Lowest LoopsThe fewest completed loops used to clear rounds 1 through 12 on the selected track and difficulty.Clear round 12 and choose Settle.
TrackThe normal result belongs to the track named by the leaderboard.Changing the selected track changes the comparison board.
DifficultyThe board also uses the selected difficulty. A result on one difficulty does not become an entry for another.Confirm the track and difficulty shown before starting.
Daily or Weekly ChallengeThe objective and setup displayed by the active rotation. If the challenge fixes a car, track, difficulty, or modifier, that requirement belongs to the challenge attempt.Enter through the active challenge card and follow the objective shown there.
InfinityThe fewest rounds needed to reach Infinity on the single Infinity board.Choose Continue after round 12, then reach Infinity.

These are three different jobs. Completion means clearing every score goal through round 12. Lowest Loops means completing those rounds with as few trips around the track as possible. Infinity means continuing past the normal finish and reaching Infinity in fewer rounds. A strong clear is not automatically a strong entry for either specialized board.

Eligibility checklist

  1. Car: In normal play, choose the car that supports your plan; track and difficulty select the board. If an active challenge lists a required car, use that challenge setup.
  2. Track and difficulty: Read both labels on the normal leaderboard before starting. Changing either one changes the comparison group.
  3. Settlement: Choose Settle after round 12 for Top Scores or Lowest Loops. Choose Continue only when Infinity is the target.
  4. Rotation: Start daily and weekly attempts from the currently active challenge card. Its displayed setup and objective apply only to that rotation.
  5. Connection: These are Steam leaderboards. Confirm that the intended board loads before the attempt, then check for your entry afterward. If the board does not load, do not treat the run as a confirmed submission.

Preparing for a Top Scores attempt

  • Build for points, not extra laps. Top Scores ranks score. Do not slow the engine merely to inflate Loops Made.
  • Choose one scoring engine. Stack effects that grow or repeat the same payoff instead of splitting gold between unrelated score, ghost, and drift plans.
  • Feed the trigger chain. Fuel keeps the attempt alive, while boost and extra triggers help the chosen payoff fire more often. They support the scoring engine; they are not the score by themselves.
  • Put support before payoff. Use an order such as multiplier or gate growth → copied trigger → main scoring gate when those pieces appear.
  • Settle after round 12. Continuing turns the run into an Infinity attempt and skips the normal submission.

Preparing for a Lowest Loops attempt

  • Front-load score. Favor effects that pay at round start, on the first gate passes, or through immediate card triggers. A slow ramp spends loops before it helps.
  • Order support before payoff. Make multipliers, copied effects, and gate growth act before the main scoring trigger whenever the track allows it.
  • Buy only the survival you need. Fuel and durability must prevent a stall, but spare recovery that never fires does not lower the loop count.
  • Watch the count after every round. A normal victory can still be a weak Lowest Loops attempt, so note where the extra laps began.
  • Use a slipped run as a route test. If the draft withholds the payoff, add dependable fuel and score, finish the run, settle, and record which round caused the count to climb.

Version 1.0.2 reset all leaderboards when the patch launched on September 19, 2026. Placements from before that reset no longer hold their old positions. Older demo and playtest standings should not be used as current full-release benchmarks; those builds used separate boards and different rules or balance.
