Verified Story Checkpoints and Launch-Build Stuck Points

Checked on the Windows retail build 1.0.005r on August 10, 2026. The macOS build was not checked separately. This section covers stable early checkpoints, later system gates, and known launch-build blockers. It does not claim to list every customer visit, optional outcome, or achievement route.

You know the scene: the repaired gadget is gleaming, the counter is empty, and Akiba has apparently placed your shop under a social quarantine. Before buying another suspicious marketplace brick, check the active To-do, return every finished story device, read the computer mail, and end the day. Those small hand-offs matter more than polishing a seventeenth spare keypad.

Confirmed Early Checkpoint Order

Hashimoto Genzo — Pokia 3310: Accept the landlord’s phone, take it apart, clean or replace every part named by the job card, rebuild it, and return it. Finish the pickup dialogue before waiting for another visitor.
Baketsu — Atari CX40 controller job: Baketsu lives above the shop and passes the controllers down through the bucket. If taking the second controller appears to remove the first, check the right shelf and the boxes beside the bench. A controller that has already been opened may move into a box when the active device changes.
Computer, deliveries, and bills: Baketsu’s internet event opens access to OutLinx Express, the email-order app. Yamato Takeru handles deliveries and later begins bringing bills. Complete any computer tutorial still named by the To-do before treating ordinary online orders as spare cash work.
Sakamoto Kenji — Unicorp 99L flashlight: Repair and return the inspector’s flashlight, then finish his counter dialogue. Do not leave the completed flashlight sitting on the bench while waiting for the next scene.
Hoshino Yui — Eggotchi: Repair the Eggotchi and complete its pickup conversation. The payment dialogue has a missable character outcome, but achievement cleanup is separate from the physical repair and hand-in.

Later Gates That Can Stop Progress

Service licenses: A locked device family needs its matching license before you can handle its full repair flow. Buy the license named by the active job rather than clearing the whole catalog at once.
Firmware jobs: Buy the Unlock-ToolKit, install it from the delivered disc, and open its computer app when a job explicitly asks for reprogramming. The longer “2.5.3a” name is not used here because it is not the verified retail tool name.
Akiba Championship: The championship app arrives through the inbox after enough story progress. Competition assembly removes the normal hints and restarts the attempt after a placement error. Work only on the record named by the current To-do; clearing every device is achievement work.
Guitar Legend and MyPod firmware: Build 1.0.005r can reject these devices when a job asks for a firmware update. This is a known launch-build defect scheduled for an update. Recleaning the device, buying unrelated licenses, or rebuilding it again is not a confirmed fix.

Required Versus Optional Shop Work

Required for the active checkpoint: the repair or conversation named by the To-do, the matching device license, any specifically requested firmware step, the requested championship record, and the final customer hand-in.

Normally optional: extra OutLinx orders, marketplace flips, salvage projects, furniture, decorative items, tool upgrades not named by the current job, extra device licenses, achievement routes, and additional championship records. Use that work for money or fun, not as a cure for a silent story trigger. A five-star seller can still mail you a fashionable shell containing the electronic spirit of a doorstop.

If the Next Customer or Job Does Not Appear

Read the current To-do and finish its first incomplete line.
Check the counter, active bench, right shelf, boxed devices, parts box, and storage for a finished story gadget that has not been returned.
Open OutLinx Express even if the mail tab shows no new-message mark. The launch build has a known notification error that can hide new mail from the tab indicator.
Check whether the active device family still needs a service license. If the job names firmware, confirm that the Unlock-ToolKit app has been installed.
Use the bike to save and end the day. Story visits can require a new shop day; simply leaving the shop open does not replace that day change.
If a championship To-do remains after the requested records, replay one completed record once. If the objective still does not move, stop spending money on licenses and preserve the save for an update.
If Guitar Legend or MyPod says it cannot be updated, treat it as the known firmware blocker. Record the device, unfinished objective, day, and build number instead of restarting the entire run.

Warning: A reload is not a universal progression fix in this build. Keep the current save and avoid abandoning a story order unless the game itself provides a safe cancellation path.

Spoiler Warning: Mutually Exclusive Choices and Endings

The following paragraphs reveal the timing and results of route splits.

After the second championship day, choosing which character to invite home can lock out the equivalent scenes and achievements for the other characters on that playthrough. The final ending split occurs after Yamato says the concert will be canceled and Hashimoto arrives with two choices.

Safe save point: No reloadable in-game branch save immediately before either split was confirmed in build 1.0.005r. The bike saves when ending the day, but that does not create a separate branch. Treat the invite and Hashimoto answers as committed; separate playthroughs are the safe route to the opposite results.

Hashimoto’s first final option sells the shop to Aoyama Takumi and sends the proceeds to the concert organizers, leading to the Rock of the Ages! ending. The second option accepts the shopping-center development, leading to Globalization. If Guitar Legend firmware prevents you from reaching this conversation, the missing ending is downstream of the launch-build blocker rather than one forgotten back screw.
