Tomato Season Quest Route

The Tomato Season quest is where Farm to Table stops smiling politely and starts tossing little red chores at your kitchen like confetti. You buy tomato fields, water crops, harvest tomatoes, cook with them, and then still have to set the dish on the menu. That last part is the tiny trap: a cooked dish is not the same thing as an active menu item. Handle this quest before opening, and your cute coastal restaurant keeps feeling like a plan instead of a tomato emergency drill.

For new players, a field is the placed farm plot used for a crop objective, and a menu item is the dish customers are allowed to order during service. Your goal here is simple: move tomatoes from field to storage, from storage to pot or stove, and from cooked dish to menu. That is the whole farm-to-table loop in miniature, and it is exactly the kind of setup that later feeds better recipes, stronger service, staff upgrades, and that five-star restaurant dream.

Clean Checklist

  • Buy tomato fields first. Open the build/shop menu when the Tomato Season objective appears and buy tomato fields. Use two tomato fields for the clean early route. Do not plan around one exact field price yet, because Early Access costs can change.
  • Place them close to the kitchen path. Put the fields behind or beside the restaurant, near the door you use most. Leave walking space around them so watering and harvesting do not turn into fence-wrangling before breakfast.
  • Water before you open. Water each tomato field right after placement. If the tomatoes are still in the ground, they are not helping the stove, the pot, or your rating.
  • Harvest the quest count. The early checklist asks for four harvested tomatoes. Harvest them as soon as they are ready, then carry them straight to storage instead of dropping them around the yard like spicy breadcrumbs.
  • Store tomatoes by the cooking station. Use a product shelf or crate spot near the stove or pot. A product shelf stores ingredient crates; keeping it near the station cuts the panic-walk when an order wants the tomato dish.
  • Cook the tomato dish. Add the tomatoes at the cooking station when the quest asks for cooking. If the recipe panel still shows an unknown recipe, follow the quest prompt and avoid guessing extra ingredients unless the game asks for them.
  • Add it to the menu separately. After cooking, open the menu setup screen and add the finished tomato dish there. Cooking proves you can make it; menu setup tells customers they can order it. Different jobs, same tiny bossy checklist.

Route Table

StepDo ThisWhy It Matters
Field setupBuy and place two tomato fields near the kitchen route.Shorter walks mean more time for cooking and service.
WateringWater both fields before opening the restaurant.Unwatered crops can stall the whole quest chain.
HarvestCollect four tomatoes when ready. This clears the harvest requirement without overbuying.
StoragePut tomatoes on a nearby shelf or in a close crate spot. The stove should not require a scenic island tour.
CookingCook the required tomato dish at the pot or stove. This advances the cooking part of the quest.
MenuAdd the cooked dish to the menu screen.Customers only order dishes that are actually on the menu.

Do not start a long opening window while the tomatoes are still growing, unwatered, or sitting far from the stove. Service in Farm to Table can get busy fast, even when the animals are cute and the island looks like it wants you to relax. Open after the tomatoes are harvested, stored, cooked, and added to the menu. That way, the first tomato order feels like income, not a small red betrayal.

If you already opened too early, recover cleanly. Stop expanding the menu, serve only what you can make from ingredients already near the kitchen, then use the next closed stretch to finish the tomato chain. If coins are tight and you cannot afford the full field setup right away, buy what you can, water it, run a short simple service for cash, then return to Tomato Season before adding more tables or decorations. Pretty floors can wait. The tomatoes are currently holding the clipboard.

Early Access note: growth timing, costs, recipe names, and balance may shift between builds. The safe rule is to trust the quest checklist on-screen, keep tomatoes close to the cooking station, and treat cooking and menu setup as two separate completion checks.
