Day: Levels 1-1 to 1-10

Our Plants Vs. Zombies Walkthrough is the essential almanac for raising zombie fighting flora that can withstand the hordes attacking your home. We've made sure to include everything the budding zombie fighter will need including detailed information on the types of plants and zombies you'll encounter as well as videos and strategies for each and every level.

Level 1-1

Zombies:  Zombie
Plants:  Peashooter

  1. Simply plant 2-3 Peashooters
  2. Collect Suns
  3. Receive Sunflower

Level 1-2

Zombies:  Zombie
Plants:  Peashooter, Sunflower

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant Peashooters as Zombies appear in the row
  3. Plant 2nd column of Peashooters
  4. Receive Cherry Bomb

Level 1-3:

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie
Plants:  Peashooter, Sunflower

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant Peashooters as Zombies appear in the row
  3. Plant 2nd column of Peashooters as Cone Heads appear in that row
  4. Receive Wall-Nut.  I like to plant these in the 5th column; it gives walking time for some zombies to die and room to plant behind

Level 1-4

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie
Plants:  Peashooter, Sunflower, Cherry Bomb, Wall-Nut

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant Peashooter as Zombie appear in that row in next column
  3. Plant Sunflower and then Peashooter for next Zombie
  4. Plant Sunflower and then Peashooter for next Zombie
  5. Plant Peashooters as you see Zombies in a row
  6. Plant 2nd Peashooter or Wall Nut as a Cone Head in the row
  7. Eventually plant 2 columns of Peashooters and 1 column of Wall-Nuts
  8. Receive a Shovel

 

Level 1-5

Wall-Nut Bowling

  • Hit zombies with Wall-nuts to kill them. 
  • Rebound shots give an additional zombie hit (and later an additional coin for each rebound)
  • Conehead, Newspaper, and Pole Vaulting zombies take 2 hits.
  • Buckethead Zombie takes 3 hits.
  • Try waiting until more zombies are behind you as the Wall-Nuts will bounce around and get more hits and later more coins
  • Save Explode-a-Nut (red) until absolutely needed; they take out the squares touching the block just like a Cherry Bomb
  • Receive Potato Mine.  I like to plant these while trying to buy Sunflowers to get the first Zombie and not waste Sun; also useful to get pole vaulter to jump

 

 

Level 1-6

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie, Pole Vaulting Zombie
Plants:  Peashooter, Sunflower, Cherry Bomb, Wall-Nut, Potato Mine

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant a Potato Mine in 2nd column as Zombie appear in that row in next column
  3. Plant 2 Sunflower
  4. Plant Peashooters as you see Zombies in a row
  5. Plant 2nd Peashooter or Wall Nut as you see a Cone Head in the row
  6. Plant Potato Mine at the far right when you see the Pole Vaulter
  7. Eventually plant 2 columns of Peashooters and 1 column of Wall-Nuts
  8. Receive Snow Pea

 

 

Level 1-7

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie, Pole Vaulter
Plants:  Peashooter, Sunflower, Cherry Bomb, Wall-Nut, Potato Mine, Snow Pea

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant a Potato Mine in 2nd column as Zombie appear in that row in next column
  3. Plant 2 Sunflowers
  4. Plant Peashooters as you see Zombies in a row and fill in
  5. Plant 2nd Peashooter or Wall Nut as you see a Cone Head in the row
  6. Plant Potato Mine at the far right when you see the Pole Vaulter; if recharging then plant a sunflower.  Once you have Snow Peas planted you do not need to worry about the pole vaulter
  7. After planting 2 columns of Peashooters, plant Snow Peas while waiting for Wall-Nuts to recharge
  8. Eventually plant 2 columns of Peashooters, 1 column of Snow Peas and 1 column of Wall-Nuts
  9. Receive Chomper.  Very handy to have behind a Wall-Nut

 

 

Level 1-8

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie, Bucket Head
Need to now choose your own plants
Plants:  Sunflower, Peashooter, Cherry Bomb, Wall-Nut, Potato Mine, Snow Pea

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant a Potato Mine in 2nd column as Zombie appear in that row in next column
  3. Plant 2 Sunflowers
  4. Plant Peashooters as you see Zombies in a row and fill in
  5. Plant 2nd Peashooter or Wall Nut as you see a Cone Head in the row
  6. After planting 2 columns of Peashooters, plant Snow Peas while waiting for Wall-Nuts to recharge
  7. Plant Snow Peas in rows with Bucket Heads, although 2 Peashooters and Wall-Nut will do the trick
  8. Receive Repeater

 

Level 1-9

Zombies:  Zombie, Cone Head Zombie, Bucket Head, Pole Vaulter
Plants:  Sunflower, Peashooter, Cherry Bomb (or Chomper), Wall-Nut, Potato Mine, Snow Pea

  1. Plant 3 Sunflowers in left column
  2. Plant a Potato Mine in 2nd column as Zombie appear in that row in next column
  3. Plant 2 Sunflowers
  4. Plant Peashooters as you see Zombies in a row and fill in
  5. Plant 2nd Peashooter or Wall Nut as you see a Cone Head in the row
  6. Use cheapest available item for pole vaulters to jump over
  7. After planting 2 columns of Peashooters, plant Snow Peas while waiting for Wall-Nuts to recharge
  8. Plant Snow Peas in rows with Bucket Heads, although 2 Peashooters and Wall-Nut will do the trick
  9. Receive Note

 

 

Level 1-10

  • Plant items as they come down the ramp
  • Save Cherry Bombs
  • Do 3 columns of Peashooters, 1 column of Snow Peas, and 1 column of Wall-Nuts
  • Anything more than this can go to the right of the Wall-Nut column just to get them planted
  • Use the Cherry Bomb if needed at the end just to finish the Final Wave quicker
  • Receive Puff Shroom
