Infinite Endless Vault Unlock, First Nine Thresholds, and Preparation
Quick answer: Complete all seven regular Endless Vault challenges, finish the Version 1.0 main story, and return to the Endless Vault after the ending. Challenge VII requires 300,000 gold in one shop day. Clearing it unlocks the Golden Endless Vault, which the game also calls the Infinite Endless Vault. Each Golden threshold is another one-shop-day target; sales from earlier days do not carry over.
You know the danger already: Will returns with a backpack arranged like jewel-covered Tetris, spots one more tempting relic, and suddenly every safe choice feels like an insult to commerce. That greed can ruin a threshold attempt. Build the whole sale before opening the Moonlighter, protect your best stock, and treat each target as one planned payday—not several average days in a fancy coat.
Tested setup: Version 1.0 launch build before Hotfix 1, PlayStation 5, Easy difficulty. The table below covers the first nine Golden challenges in that build. Later thresholds continue, but their targets and rewards are not claimed here.
How to Unlock the Infinite Endless Vault
| Gate | Unlock requirement |
|---|---|
| Story | Finish the Version 1.0 main story and its ending sequence. |
| Vault | Complete all seven regular Endless Vault challenges. Challenge VII requires 300,000 gold during one shop day. |
| Quest | Finish the active main-story objectives tied to Challenge VII, then return to the Vault after the ending. No optional side quest or Ultimate challenge is part of the unlock. |
| Bosses | No individual dungeon-boss defeat is required to clear the seven Vault challenges or open the postgame Vault. |
| Difficulty | Easy difficulty is valid. Hardcore is a separate challenge mode and is not required. |
If the Golden challenges do not appear, check that Challenge VII is complete, clear any remaining main-story prompt or conversation in Tresna, and interact with the Vault again. Do not grind another boss solely to fix an unfinished Vault objective.
One-Day Threshold Rules
A threshold is the gold target displayed by the Vault. For these objectives, the game's “single run” means one shop day. Open the Moonlighter and earn the full amount before ending that day. You can make repeated dungeon trips and store relics with K33P3R before opening the shop for the scored attempt.
| Version 1.0 challenge | Required sales | Completion trigger |
|---|---|---|
| Story gateway: Endless Vault VII | 300,000 gold | Reach 300,000 during one shop day to complete the seventh regular challenge. |
| Golden Challenge 1 | 390,000 gold | Reach 390,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 2 | 500,000 gold | Reach 500,000 during one shop day. This unlocks the option to purchase the final Moonlighter shop upgrade. |
| Golden Challenge 3 | 650,000 gold | Reach 650,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 4 | 830,000 gold | Reach 830,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 5 | 1,080,000 gold | Reach 1,080,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 6 | 1,390,000 gold | Reach 1,390,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 7 | 1,800,000 gold | Reach 1,800,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 8 | 2,320,000 gold | Reach 2,320,000 during one shop day. |
| Golden Challenge 9 | 3,000,000 gold | Reach 3,000,000 during one shop day to satisfy the ninth-challenge achievement condition. |
Ending the scored shop day below the target resets progress for the current threshold. Earlier Golden challenges, permanent upgrades, equipment, vendors, and town progress remain unlocked. Relics already sold during the failed day are still gone, so feeding premium stock into an attempt that cannot finish is heroic accounting of the worst kind.
Prepare the Sale Before You Start It
- Read the current target at the Vault. Each cleared challenge raises the next bill, so do not plan from memory.
- Build a reserve with K33P3R. Store high-value, high-quality relics instead of selling everything after each expedition.
- Add a cushion. Stock worth roughly 20 percent more than the displayed target gives you room for weak pricing, poor shop-perk choices, or an item that fails to sell.
- Plan the opening sales. Cheap and Perfect sales fill the Perkmeter, the gauge that unlocks shop perks during the day. Use lower-value relics to build it before exposing your premium stock.
- Stop once the target clears. Close the shop and save unused premium relics for the next threshold. Extra sales do not carry into the next challenge.
Fixed Preparation Versus Run Luck
| Permanent preparation | Changes during an expedition |
|---|---|
| Your chosen weapon and armor upgrades | Combat-perk offers and their rarity |
| Backpack slots purchased from Sliver | Relics, quality values, and backpack modifiers |
| Wooden Hat upgrades such as Extra Potion, Potion Healing, and Max Health | Spark perks that trade harder conditions for more relic quality |
| Moonlighter shop level, furniture, showcases, and Bloblet slots | Procedural route branches, reward rooms, and boss opportunities |
| Persistent Spark upgrades, including quality-cap increases | Placement combinations that happen to fit the relics you find |
Spark becomes available with the postgame systems. His persistent upgrades and the Spark perks encountered during expeditions are different things. The expedition perks can raise relic quality while adding combat drawbacks, so take only penalties your current build can survive. Percentage quality gains become more attractive when a relic already has high quality; flat gains are still useful on modest stock. No Spark perk, route, relic set, or backpack combo is guaranteed to appear.
Readiness Check
- Equipment: Bring an upgraded weapon whose timing you already know and the strongest armor you can reasonably afford. Named Endless gear can help, but it is not an access requirement. A familiar upgraded weapon is the safer alternative to a shiny weapon you cannot yet control.
- Healing: Buy at least one Extra Potion upgrade, then add Potion Healing or Max Health as funds allow. If those upgrades still strain the purse, take shorter routes and extract before the backpack becomes an obituary.
- Backpack: Buy enough capacity from Sliver that one low-value relic does not force you to discard a piece completing a profitable placement combo.
- Shop and cash: Use your best showcases and useful percentage bonuses. Golden Challenge 2 unlocks the final shop upgrade, which costs 600,000 gold. Keep that reserve only if you want to buy it immediately; the upgrade helps but is not required for Vault access.
- Stock: Do not begin the scored day until the relics in K33P3R and your backpack can clear the target with room to spare. Two excellent items surrounded by dungeon lint are not yet a business plan.
Safe Retreat and Recovery
During a farming expedition, retreat when healing is nearly gone, the backpack already holds enough valuable stock to improve your next attempt, or the next branch offers more danger than profit. On PS5, hold Circle to use the pendant and escape to Tresna. Aeolia—especially Zephyr Fields—is a useful quality-building option, but dungeon routes and perk offers vary, so it is not a fixed money printer.
If a shop day is clearly behind pace, stop selling the best relics in your reserve. Close the shop while premium stock is still unsold, accept the reset, and use the shortfall to plan the next run. Missing 830,000 by 90,000 may call for another strong relic, a better display bonus, or more Perkmeter setup—not a brand-new combat build. Survive the dungeon, solve the backpack, and let one glorious shop day look suspiciously like legal robbery.
