Dungeon Route Method and Safe Extraction

Choose the branch that serves the run, then use the pendant before greed turns good stock into damaged stock. The dangerous moment is often not the boss. It is Will staring at a packed backpack with no potion and deciding that half a health bar looks suspiciously like a full one. Use Tomo’s Radar—the branching encounter map—to compare the remaining paths before moving. A node is one encounter or special stop on that map.

Version scope: PC 1.0 with Hotfix 1, Normal difficulty. On Normal, defeat cuts the quality of carried relics by 50%, so a late loss can flatten an otherwise fine payday. Hardcore is harsher: death sends the journey back to the beginning. The health percentages below are planning bands, not limits enforced by the game.

Read the Route Before You Move

The exact route, room shape, enemy mix, and reward selection can change between expeditions. What stays useful is the information visible on the current Radar: branch connections, encounter symbols, relic-reward colors, and the route toward the miniboss or boss. Read backward from the endpoint and count the encounters required to reach the reward you want.

PC 1.0 + Hotfix 1 route reads
Route informationHow to use itObserved reliability
Branch connectionsTrace each choice until it rejoins another path or reaches an anchor fight. Count required encounters instead of judging a branch by its shiniest node.Reliable for the current expedition. The next expedition can arrange the route differently.
Relic encounter colorUse the icon color to compare the expected relic quality. Favor the stronger color when the main goal is shop stock. The color indicates quality or rarity, but it does not promise a particular relic, shape, or effect.
Combat perk or known special encounterChoose a perk when it improves the current build. Count a known healing stop only if it is already visible on this route. The encounter category is useful; the exact perk or result can still vary.
Miniboss and boss anchorsTreat the miniboss as the mid-run check. Before the boss stretch, decide whether the expedition is still a farming run or has become a clear attempt.A miniboss commonly appears around the middle and the region boss closes the route. Surrounding nodes are not fixed.
Unfamiliar symbolEnter only if you can afford uncertainty. If the backpack already holds the run’s real prize, an unknown stop is not automatically worth the wager.Do not assume an unfamiliar icon guarantees a merchant, recipe, relic, or upgrade.

Repeated-run pattern, not a guarantee: routes commonly mix combat encounters with forks and special stops, with two or three choices at many junctions. A miniboss near the middle and a boss at the end are useful landmarks. Different seeds and dimensions can change the path between them, so learn the branch math instead of marrying one lucky map.

The Five-Check Route Method

  1. Name the job. Pick one main goal: shop profit, a needed material, objective progress, combat perks, or a boss clear. A profit run does not owe the boss a visit.
  2. Count the mistake budget. Compare current health and healing uses with the damage from the last two combat encounters. If one bad room costs a quarter of the health bar, two forced fights need more than a quarter in reserve.
  3. Value the backpack by purpose. Protect required materials, stronger relics, and useful relic interactions before worrying about raw slot count. A half-full bag with the item needed for the next upgrade may matter more than a packed bag of replaceable stock.
  4. Price the next branch. Ask what the next visible reward adds. A combat perk before a planned boss can justify another fight. A weak relic encounter after the objective is complete may not.
  5. Bank, continue, or pivot. Bank with the pendant when the backpack matters more than the next reward. Continue when health and healing can cover a bad encounter. Pivot to the boss only when the build and supplies support the attempt.

Extraction Thresholds

Planning bands for Normal difficulty
PlanExtract whenTradeoff
ConservativeLeave when two warning signs appear: health below about 70%, one or fewer healing uses, a backpack around two-thirds full with useful stock, the objective item secured, or an uncertain combat node ahead. An irreplaceable objective item is enough reason by itself.Best while learning a dimension or carrying key materials. Progress stays steady, but boss practice and deep-route rewards arrive more slowly.
BalancedLeave near 50% health when healing is gone, the bag is nearly full, the objective is complete, or the next reward does not help the haul or build. Continue only if there is room for one bad encounter.A solid Normal-difficulty rule that reaches useful depth without betting every shop day on perfect dodges.
GreedyLeave near 30% health—or whenever the hardest recent hit could finish the run—if healing is gone, important progression loot is aboard, or weak rewards stand between Will and a dangerous fight. This buys more chances at deep rewards, perks, and boss loot, but also creates more quality-damaged paydays. Greed is a style choice, not the only profitable plan.

Raise the safety margin as backpack value rises. At 55% health with no healing, a three-quarter-full bag, a finished objective, a weak reward ahead, and no boss-ready build, extract. At 65% health with one heal, a half-full bag, and an unfinished objective that matches the next visible reward category, take that node and reassess immediately afterward. At 80% health with two heals, replaceable stock, useful combat perks, and a known perk or healing stop before the endpoint, turning the run into a boss attempt is reasonable.

How to Extract Without Donating the Backpack

Use the pendant from a quiet spot whenever possible. Once the decision is made, do not enter another encounter for one more chest-shaped excuse. Create space from nearby attacks and hold the mapped pendant input to return to Tresna. The pendant is built for leaving a bad expedition; the missed rooms are cheaper than losing half the quality on everything Will is carrying.

If greed already spoiled a valuable run, make the next expedition a recovery run. Take a short branch with visible relic rewards, gather a modest load of saleable stock, and extract before the midpoint fight if the conservative warnings appear. Sell the haul, check whether potion count, potion strength, armor, or weapon upgrades address the loss, and then try the deeper route again. One clean payday rebuilds momentum faster than charging the same boss with worse supplies and wounded merchant pride.
