How Shared Co-op Upgrades Work
The crew is clearing ground, dust keeps arriving, and selling it all has become the slowest job on the Moon. Congratulations: lunar management has funded a very efficient waiting room. Before buying more cleaning power in Moon Sweepers, check what is holding the crew back—and which upgrades the host world already has.
Version note: Patch 1.0.3, released October 24, 2026, introduced the shared Upgrade Matrix. The Upgrade Matrix is the game's upgrade menu. The connected crew uses the host Upgrade Matrix and anyone can buy its upgrades. A matrix upgrade bought by one crewmate benefits the connected crew.
Plan the next purchase together
- Join the intended host world. Make sure everyone is in the world where you plan to keep working before discussing its upgrades.
- Inspect that world's Upgrade Matrix. Check the upgrades and levels already bought. Plan from what you see there, rather than what you remember from another session.
- Agree on the bottleneck. Is cleaning slow, does carrying capacity cut trips short, or is collected dust waiting downstream? In an established factory, follow dust through collection, transport, processing, and sale before asking for more collection power.
- Choose the next purchase. Read the available upgrade's effect and cost, then pick one that addresses the problem you found. Agree who will buy it; the host does not have to make every matrix purchase.
If dust is backing up, have one crewmate follow the delivery path while the others pause expansion. Check where material stops moving, address that point, and watch whether the queue clears before buying more collectors. A cleaner patch of Moon feels much better when its dust can finish the trip.
Keep shared upgrades separate from guest carryover
The matrix rule does not establish which personal progress follows a guest into another world. It also does not establish shared ownership of every tool, inventory item, vehicle, wallet, or achievement. When joining a different host, inspect that world's matrix again before planning purchases.
If an upgrade seems missing, confirm the host world and compare the same upgrade and level together. If the mismatch remains, record each player's installed version, who is hosting, and the exact upgrade involved before spending to solve it.
Split the work and manage the crew
Try optional roles: a cleaner clears dusty ground, a hauler handles deliveries, and a logistics crewmate checks belts, processing, and sale intake. Swap jobs as the bottleneck changes. That toothbrush assignment becomes a proper lunar operation when the whole route works.
For disruptive visitors, the host can press Esc → Your Crew to find the kick and ban controls. A banned player cannot rejoin that save unless the host unbans them there. These controls manage crew access; they do not establish separate permissions for who may build or alter each structure.
