How to Move Buildings and Check Dust Delivery
The catchers are filling, the belts are crowded, and the cleaning budget barely moves. Your Moon Sweepers crew has become very good at collecting tomorrow's traffic jam. Before buying another collector, follow the dust to the first blocked handoff. A clear delivery line makes the next shift easier.
Version note: The building controls, catcher routing, and garage status changes below arrived in patch 1.0.5, released October 28, 2026. Check your installed version if these options are missing.
Move a building without buying it again
You can build pieces directly on dusty ground; you do not need to sweep their footprint first. Use the Building Tool, your construction tool, to rearrange a cramped route.
- Equip the Building Tool and press R to enter Move Mode. Pick up the piece you want to shift. Everything standing on that piece moves with it, so check the supported group before relocating a foundation.
- Place it in the new position. Relocation is free. Connected belts follow only within reach. Inspect every belt connection after the move, especially where the new position stretches the old route.
- Undo a bad pickup with right-click. This returns the piece to its original position. Press R or Esc to exit Move Mode.
If you no longer need a building piece, removing it refunds its full price. For a working machine that simply needs more room, try moving it first. Change one part of the line, check the result, then tackle the next cramped spot.
Follow the dust from catcher to payment
Start at collection and work downstream. Watch a capsule carrying dust until you find where its route stops.
- Check catcher distribution. J.O.O.N.A.S., the cleaning robot that launches dust capsules, targets the emptiest Capsule Catcher in the nearest group. Catchers within 100 metres of each other form a group. When every catcher in that group is over 80% full, deliveries overflow to the next group. Compare fill levels before moving catchers. A whole group staying nearly full is your cue to inspect its outgoing routes.
- Check belt connections. Follow each catcher's output toward its destination. Look for a disconnected port, a belt heading the wrong way, or a queue at the next receiver. Recheck anything you just moved. For vehicle deliveries, read the garage silo's outfeed status: its outfeed is the connection that sends dust onward. If it asks for a conveyor connection, repair that link before treating the stop as a packing fault.
- Check processing. At each processing machine on your route, inspect the message, incoming material, power, and outgoing queue. Find whether material stops before entering, during processing, or at the exit. Clear the blocked stage and watch whether the queue starts shrinking.
- Check sale intake. Follow the final belt into the depot intake and check payment as material arrives. Belt-fed dust and stone pay on intake; they do not need the manual shipment launch. If the load stops short of the intake, keep checking the route.
If the connections look sound but capsules still will not pack, check the version and exact error. Patch 1.0.5 addressed packing failures in large bases with many capsules on belts; that does not guarantee every packing fault is gone. Record which machines or packing actions fail before rebuilding the factory. Once delivery resumes, let the existing queue drain before spending the budget on more collection. Lunar management can survive one delayed shopping trip.
