How Enchantment Books and the Enchantsmith Work

Your loot bag is full, three weapons look promising, and the next mob pack still folds your hero. Before another inventory meeting, decide what your build needs to do better. In Minecraft Dungeons II, enchantments are added gear effects that help shape how you fight. The book system lets you give a favorite weapon a role in your build instead of judging every drop by its shine.

Books, your library, and item effects

Enchantment books found during your adventure add their enchantments to your personal library: your collection of unlocked enchanting options. The Enchantsmith is the merchant who applies a library enchantment to your chosen gear. You can visit the Enchantsmith in Brave Haven.

Keep those chosen enchantments separate from random item effects, the bonuses that can already be present on equipment you find. An item's built-in effect and an enchantment selected from your library are different parts of the gear comparison. Read both before deciding what the item brings to a fight.

From a book to enchanted gear

  1. Acquire an enchantment book. The book adds its enchantment to your personal library. Start with the options you have collected.
  2. Pick a job for the upgrade. Look at the gear you use and name the problem you want to solve, such as getting more value from your dodge rolls.
  3. Visit the Enchantsmith. Select the gear you want to enchant in your chosen slot, then review the library enchantments offered for that item.
  4. Choose and apply an enchantment. Read its full description: what activates the effect and what it changes. Review the displayed requirements, then apply your choice.
  5. Check the result. Inspect the enchanted gear and reread the effects on your other equipped items. Make sure the added effect supports the way you plan to fight.

Choose an effect you will actually use

For example, if your library includes an effect whose description says it fires arrows when you dodge roll, it gives your repositioning an extra attack. That can suit a hero who rolls often while fighting mob packs. If you rarely roll, compare another available effect whose trigger matches your usual attacks. Build around actions you already use; a clever effect needs chances to work.

If the next fight still goes badly, reread the enchantment's trigger before replacing more gear. On your next attempt, deliberately perform the action named in its description and watch for the stated effect. This helps you check whether your fighting habits match the enchantment.

Enchantments can also be upgraded and leveled up over time. Once an effect fits your build, review its upgrade description and displayed requirements at the Enchantsmith. Compare what the upgrade changes before committing. A favorite weapon and a useful enchantment give your hero a fighting style worth taking into the next co-op run.
