General Overview and Tips

You spot an Enchantment that would make Drake of Cakes shine, then notice you are one bread short. The baker cannot take a charming smile as payment. Before choosing a shop, check what the town can give you, what is in your hand, and what the Enchantment row costs. A useful Gather turn can set up your next big play.

You are a Flamekeeper, helping dragons make a lively town work. Your goal is to finish with the most reputation, the score marked by hearts. Goods, such as bread and potions, help you cast Enchantments. Artisan Dragons are cards you can place in matching shop slots. Their abilities can help turn a pleasant little shop into a scoring engine.

Gather or Enchant?

  • Gather: Take what the shop offers, plus goods from its dragons and Enchantments. You may place one Artisan Dragon from your hand in a matching empty slot, use one dragon’s Fire Up ability, and use the shop’s ability if it has one. Fire Up means using a dragon’s printed power.
  • Enchant: Pay the goods shown on a faceup Enchantment whose top-left icon matches the shop’s. A wild shop can take any Enchantment. Gain the card’s printed reward, which may include reputation. Then you may Fire Up any number of Artisan Dragons at that shop.

Make a quick shop check

First, scan the town for shops that give a good you need or have helpful dragons. Next, check your hand for an Artisan Dragon that fits an open slot. Then read the faceup Enchantment row: compare the top-left icons, count the cost, and check the reward. If you can pay for a useful Enchantment at Drake of Cakes, Enchanting may turn saved goods into reputation and several dragon powers. If you are short on goods, Gather where you can get the missing type. If no dragon in your hand fits an open slot, look for a shop with an Artisan Dragon icon in its top-left corner; Gathering there lets you take a faceup dragon from the Park or draw from the deck. You must visit a different shop from the one you visited last turn, so plan the trip back to your target. The cards change from game to game; let the town in front of you shape your plan.
