How to Find Useful Shops and Enchantments in Your Match

You spot a bread dragon, an empty shop slot, and an enchantment that looks perfect—then the slot shows only a crystal icon. The little baker cannot move in there. In Flamecraft, check three matches separately: your dragon must fit a slot, an enchantment must fit a shop, and your goods must cover its cost.

Scan the town before choosing a shop

  1. Look over the shops already in town. Read each shop’s icon and ability, then check the goods icons on its resident Artisan Dragons and enchantments. On a Gather visit, you take what the shop and those cards produce. A shop may give you a good, a coin, or an Artisan Dragon.
  2. Check each empty dragon slot, then compare its icons with the Artisan Dragons in your hand. A matching dragon earns the reward printed on that slot when you place it. A slot with several icons accepts any one of those types.
  3. Read the face-up enchantment row. Match the icon at the top of a card to a shop’s icon, then compare its printed cost with your goods and coins. Check the card’s reward and the dragons already at that shop. A wild shop can take any enchantment; a shop with a dragon or coin icon cannot be enchanted.

Gather or Enchant? Gather when a shop supplies goods you need or has a slot your dragon can fill. Take the shop’s current goods first, then place one matching dragon for the slot reward. You may Fire Up—use the ability of—one dragon there, including the one you just placed. You may also use the shop’s ability. Enchant when a matching card is available and you can pay its cost now. Coins can stand in for goods unless the card shows the no-coins icon. Take the card’s reward, then you may Fire Up every Artisan Dragon at that shop. You do not need an open dragon slot to Enchant.

For example, if Gnome Depot is in your town, check its iron icon and open slots. If you need iron for a face-up iron enchantment and hold a dragon that fits a slot, Gather there. Take the goods, place the dragon, and use one dragon’s Fire Up ability if it helps. After visiting a different shop on your next turn, you can return to Gnome Depot to Enchant if the iron card is still available and you can pay for it.

When the pieces have not appeared

If the shop you wanted is not in town, find another open shop that gives you a missing good or fits a dragon in your hand. Filling a shop’s last dragon slot brings a new shop into town at the end of the turn. If another player is at your chosen shop, you can still visit, but first give each player there one good or one coin. If you cannot pay them all, choose another shop.

If no dragon in your hand fits, Gather for useful goods anyway and Fire Up a resident dragon. A shop with a dragon icon can help you draw another Artisan Dragon. If your target enchantment is missing or too costly, check for another card whose icon matches a shop you can visit and whose cost you can pay. Otherwise, Gather the goods you lack and check the row again after it changes. Shops, dragons, and enchantments appear in different orders from match to match, so follow the useful combo the town gives you.
