Alice's Studious Motivation: How to Meet the Lace Trim Requirement

A dress can look like it fell into a lace drawer and still miss Alice’s trim goal. In Dressmaker v0.7.0 (developer Build 410), her Studious Motivation brief says, “Alice wants a dress that will help to motivate her to study.” The card requires Quality: 75, Gothic: 40, Romantic: 25, and Use 100cm of Lace Trim. Her budget is 250 gold. The last line calls for an accessory tagged Lace Trim; lace fabric and accessories tagged Trim do not fill that goal.

The scores and trim length are required. Your fabric and pattern pieces are your choice. One starting sketch is Front Lace Stays, Juliette-Bishop sleeves, and a Corset Skirt, if those pieces are unlocked. A bodice is the dress’s upper section; the skirt is the lower section. Try fabrics that raise the Gothic and Romantic bars, then check both bars before you buy or cut. Treat that sketch as an option, not a promised score.

1. At the International Emporium, open Accessories and filter for Lace Trim. Check the item’s tag before buying. A name containing “lace” is not enough. Leave room in the 250-gold budget for fabric and the trim.
2. After sewing, select your tagged Lace Trim accessory at the mannequin and place it on the dress. Watch Alice’s trim requirement as you work. Keep adding the correct trim until the credited length reaches 100 cm.
3. Before delivery, check that the trim goal is met and that Gothic and Romantic reach 40 and 25. Check the finished quality against 75 as well.

If the trim count stays short, pause before delivery and check the accessory tag again. Lace fabric can stay in your design, but you still need placed Lace Trim to meet Alice’s line.
