Main Story Route and Quest Order
Broken Reality 2000 loves putting three neon staircases, six floating Likes, and one dancing cat in front of the route you need. When the quest log starts looking like a crashed browser, follow the region order below. Likes are social-rank points. New tools reopen old dead ends. NATEM calls this engagement. We call it keeping receipts.
This is one working critical-path order, not the only possible order. E-World and Grifton can be tackled in either order after the first Nexus quests. Optional collection work is labeled so you can leave it for later without wondering whether progression broke.
1. Minami Beach: Card, Camera, Katana, and the Bank Exit
Trigger: Enter NATEM and speak to the arrival Bot. Required tools: None. The Liker, which collects Likes and carries loose objects, unlocks at the entrance. Like gates: 300 Likes beyond Furrobotto; 1,500 Likes for the Art Factory on a later visit.
- Like the entrance ad, cross the bridge, and enter the UniversalSoulBank east of the café. Speak to the banker Bot and take the Card.
- Bank exit: Equip the Card and use it on the large ATM to withdraw money. Turn toward the locked entrance and use the Card on the separate terminal beside the door. The ATM gives money; the door terminal spends it. NATEM has placed two nearly identical financial rectangles in one room. Excellent onboarding.
- Complete the nearby cash jobs until you have $500. Buy the Camera from Pawn Show, the curiosity shop uphill from the ramen stand. The Camera takes marked photos, scans QR-style icons, and connects hacking nodes.
- Photograph the marked graffiti around the Art Factory exterior. At the garage uphill from Pawn Show, press the Like switch and give the pictures to the upside-down NPC. Scan the icons inside the opened rooms to reach the back exit.
- Go downhill past the half-sunken car and speak to Furrobotto. Open the 300-Like barrier, cross the bridge, and follow the right path toward the water. Before entering the water, scan the icon on the left to raise a bridge.
- Enter the house beyond the bridge. Go upstairs past the two dancing cats and take the Katana from the wall. Cut the pop-ups blocking the exit.
- Return to the blocked main staircase and slash its pop-ups. At the stone train tower, speak to Likey D’ Like to learn Camera hacking. Connect the nodes at the entrance, save, and take the train to Nexus.
Clear state: The Minami train is open, and the Card, Camera, and Katana appear in the hotbar. Reward: Three core tools and Nexus access. Next: Nexus. Postpone: The bank-vault shard, lighthouse, sewer, distant water routes, and 1,500-Like Art Factory interior need later tools.
If the bank locks during a return visit and neither terminal responds, that is not the intended puzzle. Reload the autosave made before the last loading screen. Do not treat Unstuck as the bank’s secret premium service.
2. Nexus: Bookmarker, Viral Content, and The End
Trigger: Arrive by train from Minami Beach. Required tools: Katana and Camera. Like gates: 800 Likes at the E-World entrance. Grifton uses a City Pass instead.
- Slash the two floating faces projecting beams across the arrival platform. Ride the escalator toward the huge The Future Is Now tower.
- Speak to the Bot at the desk northeast of the tower to start The End. The objective asks for the Legendary Blade and points toward the secret server. Leave it active for now.
- Cut the pop-ups beside the desk and take the Bookmarker. A bookmark saves one position and teleports you back to it. Place the marker on one yellow floor pad, walk onto the other pad, and activate the marker. Both pads register and the shields drop.
- In the duty-free shops north of the tower, speak to Eleanor and start Viral Content. She wants a scan of Oneechan’s signature move.
- From the tower, cross the eastern glass walkway with fish below it. Before the Grifton entrance, ride the escalator down to the concert. Use the Camera’s scan mode, zoom in on Oneechan, and hold the scan until the meter fills. A normal photograph does not count, and the scan can take longer than expected.
- Connect the three hacking triangles near the stage to raise the return bridge. Return to Eleanor and collect the City Pass.
Clear state: Viral Content leaves the active list, the City Pass is awarded, and the routes to E-World and Grifton are available. Reward: Bookmarker and City Pass. Next: Take the 800-Like E-World route, or visit Grifton first.
The End note: This objective may remain in the log even after you obtain the late-game blade. Its practical completion check comes much later: the Darkatana cuts the red chains on The Future Is Now tower and opens the way to Cloud.
3. E-World: Bow Route and High Roller Shopping
Trigger: Remove the 800-Like barrier at the E-World entrance. Required tools: Katana, Camera, and Bookmarker. Like gates: 800 Likes at entry and 1,400 Likes on the lower-right route in Universum Plaza. Later return: The intended flooded and upper-shopping route requires the Hoverboard.
- Follow the ruined mall ring to ESZY and accept the bug-removal job. Large bugs make a scratching sound, and the Bookmarker radar points toward them. Destroy 15 with the Katana and return to ESZY for the Bow.
- At Red Ocean Computers, speak to Toxicoman. Cut every Fuji pop-up in the mall to lower the Arrow price from $1,000,000 to $1,000. Deliver food-court orders to the waiting Bots for cash, then buy the Arrow.
- Use the Bow to hit the previously unreachable bugs and the balloon rig above the blocked sector. Climb the spawned steps and enter the white passage to Universum Plaza.
- Open the 1,400-Like barrier on the plaza’s lower-right route. Buy the $100 access card from NATEM Airlines. The flooded route, final fashion target, and several upper shops remain Hoverboard-gated, so return to the train and continue toward Grifton.
Clear state: Bow and Arrow are usable, and Universum Plaza is open. Reward: Ranged interactions and a route back to Nexus. Next: Grifton.
Optional return after unlocking the Hoverboard:
- Return through Universum Plaza and buy every remaining marked store item. Check Ocho Loco, CD-Nation, and the $100 phone in Eggplant. High Roller Shopping should reach 95/95.
- Return to Sun_Moon on the upper level near the game shops. If she tells you to wait for her videos to earn money, leave the area, return, and speak to her again. The completion line may not appear; confirm that the quest has left the active list and that you received the cash reward.
- To enter KinoMAX, complete Shamate’s three outfit photographs for $1,000 if you still need money, then buy the $2,000 ticket.
- Speak to Cheng at the theater checkpoint and destroy the drones in the lobby and theaters. In Theater 1, Furrobotto requests popcorn with extra butter, normal salt, chocolate gummies, and a lemon soda. The dialogue first mentions no salt, then changes the order to normal salt. Carry the completed combo close to Furrobotto; throwing it can make the item disappear.
- Use Employee Access to reach the remaining theaters and shoot all six drones. Return to Cheng, scan both movie screens for his follow-up task, and receive Restricted Access. The double doors beside Theater 1 then open.
Clear state: High Roller Shopping is complete, KinoMAX Employee Access has been used, and Restricted Access is active. Reward: Cash and access to the final E-World rooms. Next: Leave by the E-World train for Nexus. The Restricted Access shard and flooded keycard maze are optional collection detours.
4. Grifton: Hyperlinker, IT IS TRADITION, Church, and South Gate
Trigger: Present the City Pass at the Grifton station. Required tools: Katana, Camera, Bookmarker, Bow, and Card. Like gate: 1,300 Likes beyond the Networth overlook. Money gates: $1,000 for RCADE and $10,000 at South Gate.
- Climb through the market to the red Networth sign. Pay at the entrance, use Camera hacking to connect the four hidden orbs, follow the opened right passage, and clear the 1,300-Like barrier.
- IT IS TRADITION: Speak to Jock Tanaka in the mahjong parlor above the ASMR Salon. Enter Catcoin and scan the panel beside its door to trigger “HACKING SEQUENCE INITIATED.” Connect the red spheres among the cat-shaped machines. After “MACHINES VULNERABLE” appears, switch to the Katana and slash every cat machine. Return to Jock for the cash reward.
- Pay $1,000 to enter RCADE and speak to Yellow Bro beside the Hyperlinker. Complete his three employee jobs. Photograph Darsha’s upside-down hidden worker near the trees by the large DVD screen. For Nino_Rata_Pro_Emo, throw the five nearby paint buckets at five security cameras. For Eli, scan the evidence boxes in Token Laundry, carry box 02300 back to RCADE, and let the room’s trash trigger take it.
- Return to Yellow Bro and collect the Hyperlinker, which grapples floating @ symbols.
- Grifton church route: In the small tree area outside the video store, grapple the @ symbol overhead. Land on the button platform and place a Bookmarker point. Grapple to the Techno Church roof, stand on its second button, and activate the Bookmarker. This drains the pool in front of the central statue.
- From the church roof, use Camera hacking to connect the five surrounding orbs. Enter the opened church, speak to Acid Rain, and withdraw exactly $10,000 from the ATM on the right.
- Pay the $10,000 panel at South Gate. The payment opens the exit and also restores the northern entrance route. Take the train back to Nexus.
Clear state: The Hyperlinker is in the hotbar, the church is open, and South Gate is paid. Reward: Hyperlinker, cash from IT IS TRADITION, and the route out of Grifton. Next: Return to Minami Beach for the Hoverboard.
Version 1.0.3 warning: If IT IS TRADITION displays both hacking messages but the Katana cannot damage the cat machines, the quest state is stalled. It is not another hidden orb. The quest is optional for leaving Grifton, so continue the main route and retry from a save made before entering Catcoin or after a later patch. Unstuck is not the puzzle solution.
5. Minami and Nexus Return: Strength, Hoverboard, and the Crypt Entrance
Trigger: Obtain the Hyperlinker in Grifton. Required tools: Hyperlinker, Camera, Bookmarker, Katana, and Bow. Like gate: 1,500 Likes at the Minami Art Factory.
- Return to Minami and enter the Art Factory. Photograph all five marked paintings. Security cameras eject you when they catch you holding the Camera, so put it away while changing positions. Return to Orcell for a gym membership.
- Enter Weworkout behind Orcell. Speak to Mameitor, pick up the dumbbell with the Liker, and complete 30 repetitions. This grants the Strength interaction.
- Go below the Ferris wheel pier and break the marked rock. Follow the sewer walkway and zigzag between @ points. In the deepest chamber, collect the Hoverboard beside Brice the Nice.
- Return to Nexus. From The Future Is Now tower, turn left and cross the water with the Hoverboard. Pass through the junkyard toward the tower covered in satellite dishes. The elevator up the stairs leads to the Cryptomines.
Clear state: Strength and Hoverboard are unlocked, and the Cryptomines elevator works. Reward: Water travel and Crypt access. Next: Crypts. Optional: The lighthouse, ocean rings, and sewer vault are collection cleanup.
6. Crypts: Dynamite and the Eight-Robot Route
Trigger: Ride the junkyard elevator down from Nexus. Required tools: Hoverboard, Hyperlinker, Bookmarker, Bow, Camera, and Katana. Like gate: None.
- Collect dynamite behind the arrival elevator and on the nearby ledges. Shoot the yellow weak points on hanging stalactites to create bridges. Follow the green track and speak to the first mine Bot so it clears the transistor blockage.
- In the next mine section, collect three sticks of dynamite along the track and wooden path. Give all three to the Bot beside the Save Vending Machine to open the deeper route.
- Find Orcell on the upper wooden walkways. Photograph the three vandalized billboards: the large board below Orcell, the smaller board on the opposite wall, and the board beyond the second Save Vending Machine. Orcell then starts the eight-robot rescue.
- Crypt robot blocker: In the moving-bridge room, rescue the first robot and place a Bookmarker point on the far platform before returning to a bridge switch. Toggle the bridge and activate the marker to reappear on the correct side. Repeat this leapfrog method. The Hoverboard can backtrack through open water, and marked stalactites can be shot down when dynamite looks unreachable.
- Rescue four robots on the upper level and return to Orcell. The elevator activates. Ride it to the lower mine.
- On the lower level, hack the orb groups to reveal @ points, gather the requested dynamite, and use the movable blue water platform with a Bookmarker point to reach its second position. Rescue the remaining four robots.
- Return to Orcell with all eight robots. After they remove their boss, drop to the machine below and collect the cult mask.
- Ride the elevator back to Nexus, take the train to Minami Beach, and grapple across the broken bridge near Furrobotto. Approach the wooden gate guarded by Yellow Bro. The mask changes the response to PASS and opens Social Jungle.
Clear state: The robot count reads 8/8, Orcell leaves the mine, and the cult mask opens the Minami gate. Reward: Cult mask and Social Jungle access. Next: Social Jungle.
7. Social Jungle and the Mansion
Trigger: Present the cult mask at the Minami wooden gate. Required tools: All current traversal tools. Like gate: None.
- Take the left trail and collect the slot-machine medallion before the clearing. On the right trail, hack all six orbs to open the small gate containing the diamond medallion.
- Follow the winding trail near Pink Bro. Take the stair branch for the crystal-ball medallion.
- At the tall tree huts, grapple upward and place a Bookmarker point in the empty hut. Approach Josh Tanaka so he teleports away, activate the marker, and speak to him before he moves again. He gives the owl medallion.
- Carry throwable dynamite to the two blocked rock routes. One continues through seven pop-ups to the tongue medallion. The other holds the hammer medallion.
- On the upper trail, grapple across the gap and follow the raised bridge to the whale medallion.
- Shoot all nine spy drones and return to Pink Bro for the rocket medallion. Insert all eight medallions into the purple door.
- Inside the vehicle temple, use the Hoverboard to touch all four floor pads before they reset. Pass the opened barrier, climb beyond the abandoned pool, and enter the gateway into the Mansion.
Clear state: The purple medallion door and four-pad barrier are open. Reward: Mansion access. Next: Mansion interior.
8. Mansion: Seven Targets and the Museum Pass
Trigger: Enter through the Social Jungle pool gateway. Required tools: Liker, Bow, Hyperlinker, Camera, and Katana. Like gate: None.
- In the main hall, turn left and climb the fallen support pillar. Follow the upper walkway and press the computer-like panel. It opens a barred room on the opposite side of the ground floor.
- Enter that room and press its panel to spawn seven Bow targets in the lobby. Six can be seen from the floor and lower balconies. The last is on the top-right level and can be hit from the fallen pillar.
- After all seven break, grapple the new @ point above the pillar. At the upper landing, hack five orbs. This opens the gate below the first panel.
- Drop into that room from above and press the next computer panel. Grapple the new @ point across the hall, then chain the following @ points upward.
- Pass through the washing stalls and press the balcony panel. The cult-meeting doors open. Speak to the group, then speak to Red Bro for the Museum Pass.
- Drop to the lobby and press the panel beside the front door. Exit through Social Jungle, return through Minami to Nexus, and head toward E-World. Before the E-World entrance, look up and right for an @ point leading to the elevated Museum station. Take that train.
Clear state: The Museum Pass is in the quest inventory, and the Mansion front door opens from inside. Reward: Museum access. Next: Museum.
Try to finish the target chain before leaving the Mansion. Saving or leaving after the targets appear can remove the new @ point and stall the room. If that happens, reload a save from before you started the seven-target puzzle. A hidden eighth target is not the answer.
9. Museum: Quiz Route and the Darkatana
Trigger: Present the Museum Pass at the ticket booth. Required tools: All unlocked tools. Like gate: None.
- Scan the first exhibits, then answer the Bot’s quiz: Aquanet, got deprecated, and Lentium.
- In the second gallery, answer: Cube, Sphere, Prism; The Voids; and Master Chozai.
- In the T-Rex and Anthropology gallery, answer: Rex Debugger, Pipes, and RGB. This opens the route back to the central hall and second floor.
- On the second floor, press the Like switch that starts the moving elevator. Shoot the Bow target by the barrier, then the two targets it spawns. Enter the trash-history exhibit.
- Shoot trash down to form walkways over the green water. Turn the red valve beside the QR marker. Carry the displayed batteries into the large machine to open the compactor route, then time a Hyperlink grapple through the crusher.
- At the Save Vending Machine, cut the active battery to open the first door. Carry the next battery into its wall slot, place a Bookmarker point beyond the door, cut the battery back out, and teleport through. Repeat at the next battery door. Shoot the battery behind the moving gates, then press the Like switch beside the final QR marker. The green-and-yellow door near the exhibit entrance opens.
- In the giant pen-and-book room, grapple up the floating objects. Press the Like switch to the right of the giant apple. Enter the opening behind the pen tip by using the spiral stairs.
- Hack six orbs beyond the next Save Vending Machine. In the first torch room, press blue and place the prism in the forward pedestal; press pink and place the sphere in the center pedestal; press blue again and place the cube in the left pedestal. Use the Bookmarker to hold distant switches while moving the matching shapes through rooms two and three.
- Press the elevator Like switch beyond the pedestal rooms. Ride to the third floor, turn left into the forest display, accept the Bot’s task, and shoot all seven targets.
- At the top floor, press the elevator switch, take the right stairs into the glass display, and press its final Like switch. Return to the left barrier, enter the opened room, and take the Darkatana.
Clear state: The Darkatana can cut barriers the standard Katana cannot, and the final story direction appears. Reward: Darkatana and access to the secret-server route. Next: Take the Museum train to Nexus and cut the red chains on the side of The Future Is Now tower.
The End completion check: The objective may remain visible. Progress is correct when the red chains break and the white staircase to Cloud rises. Darkatana cleanup in Minami, Social Jungle, and Veblen Tower is optional unless you are preparing the medallions required for the True ending.
10. Cloud Route
Major story and Cloud spoilers: The remaining steps reveal Cloud’s version changes, final objectives, and the ending split.
Trigger: Cut the chained Nexus door with the Darkatana. Required tools: All eight core tools, including the upgraded blade. Like gate: None. True-ending requirement: Complete the regional medallions before attempting the route above the final pit.
- At the first Cloud barrier, look through the rings on both sides of the bridge and shoot the hidden Bow targets. Cross the spawned side bridges, hack all three orbs, and pass the barrier.
- At the movable cube, expose its arrows and move it left until it fills the upper gap. Click the cube body to make it solid. Use the large floor button to reset it if it reaches the wrong square.
- At the next barrier, view one hacking orb through the nearby ring. Drop into the well with the Hoverboard, cross below the wall, and Hyperlink upward. View the two rings on that side and connect all three orbs.
- In Develop 4, collect six $1 discs: one upstairs, one in the nearby pit, one from the fishing-rod Bot, one near the key cage, one behind the cuttable brush behind the version Bot, and one on the Hyperlink route outside the building. Pay $6 for the 3.0 Unlocker and give it to the version Bot.
- In Develop 3, move the two cubes across the broken paths. Use the Bookmarker on the paired pressure pads around the large structure. Inside, destroy all ten bugs, move the spawned cube to the upper gap, solve the next paired-pad routes, and press the Like switch to release the Triangle Key.
- Return to Develop 4. Use the Triangle Key on the blue box near the Save Vending Machine, enter the gate, and collect the fishing rod. Return it to the first Bot for the 2.0 Unlocker.
- In Develop 2, hack the three eastern orbs and cross with the spawned @ point. Slash five pop-ups within 35 seconds for the Green Square Key. Speak to the western Bot to start the Like Claw task.
- Return to Develop 4 and use the Green Square Key. Follow the gate-and-Hyperlink loop to the top platform, collect the Like Claws, and deliver them in Develop 2.
- Climb the opened fog jungle by alternating its two movable cubes across each gap. At the top, drop into the water route and collect the Red Circle Key.
- Use the Red Circle Key in Develop 4. Follow the gates and floating rubble to the distant landmass, collect the Blockchain, and return it to the western Bot. The reward is the 1.0 Unlocker.
Clear state: The version Bot accepts the 1.0 Unlocker, and Develop 1 becomes available. Reward: Access to the final cathedral. Next: Save before switching to Develop 1.
Ending spoilers: The cathedral pit is the final route split. The two routes below correspond to the named ending achievements.
- Ending: Past: Walk north into the cathedral and drop into the central pit. Follow the orange pedestals and surrender each tool. When the yellow barrier opens, speak to Error, turn back, and step onto the grid-cube teleporter. The credits award Ending: Past. You can log back into NATEM afterward and continue from the persistent file.
- True Ending: Return to the cathedral but do not enter the pit. Use Camera hacking while looking at the large triangle above it, then grapple the hidden @ point across the gap. The gates ahead open only when the regional medallions are complete. Follow the winding path while surrendering your tools, take the old-style Liker, and speak to Oneechan in the grassy area. Interact with the computer and choose Delete Account. Back in the apartment, leave through the front door to trigger the True Ending achievement and credits.
Final clear state: The matching ending achievement unlocks after its last required interaction. NATEM’s onboarding process is complete, which is corporate language for “you found the part they hoped you would not click.”
