Opening Tips: Coastal Camp and First Monument
If your sword keeps tapping away while an enemy barely notices, check the yellow bar before blaming the blade. In Queen's Domain, swinging before your Power Meter recovers makes your attacks weak. Give it time to refill, and leave yourself room to back away after each hit.
This walkthrough covers the full-release opening, from the coastal camp through the Shrine Guardian and Holy Sword Endu. Start by getting equipped and securing your first save. Soon, these unfamiliar paths will become a network of landmarks and useful shortcuts.
Coastal Camp: Get Your Sword and Healing Supplies
- Find Commander Ekonta beside the campfire. He is the armored man on the left. Speak to him to receive the Rusted Short Sword, then open your equipment menu and equip it.
- Check behind Arjaot, the reclining knight. Collect the Dried Herbs there for healing. Break the crate behind Ekonta to find more healing supplies, and put healing items in your quick slots so they are ready during a fight.
- Find the wooden boards west of camp. This barricade is breakable. Strike it with your sword, pause while the yellow Power Meter refills, then strike again until you can walk through. Collect the herbs beside the barrier before moving on.
- Go through the cleared opening to the first Crystal Monument. This is your save and recovery point. Interact with it, rest if you need health, then choose Save before exploring farther.
Crystal Monument: Save and Rest Are Separate
A Crystal Monument gives you two different jobs to handle. Healing up does not take the place of recording your progress.
| Choice | What it does | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Save | Records your progress. | Before leaving camp and after important pickups or opened shortcuts. |
| Rest | Restores health and respawns enemies. | When you need recovery. Choose Save afterward to preserve your progress. |
If an early fight leaves you limping, return to this monument, rest, and save. Expect enemies to be back along the route. There are no automatic checkpoints to protect discoveries made since your last save.
Recover Power Before Committing to Another Hit
Power recovery and charged attacks are different. Waiting lets the yellow Power Meter refill so your next swing has more strength. Holding the primary attack prepares a stronger charged strike. You do not need to hold attack just to recover power.
For an early fight, draw an enemy's attack, step out of reach, then strike during its recovery with your meter replenished. Back away before repeating. Running drains power, so stop running when you need the meter to refill. Holding a charged attack also prevents running and throwing weapons until you release it; keep enough space to finish the swing safely.
Leave Deimpo Mausoleum for Later
The enormous sealed Deimpo Mausoleum entrance near camp is a later destination. It is separate from the opening Crypt, where you will recover the Endu Shrine Gate Key. Leave the sealed Mausoleum entrance for later.
Your next objective is the Dagger Belt. From the first Crystal Monument, climb the nearby stairs, take the first right through the rock gap, then turn right onto the coastal path. You are heading toward the beach with two offshore rocks. Equip the belt when you collect it to gain throwing daggers for enemies and the Crypt's diamond-shaped door targets—the next useful connection in your island route.
