12 Early Edjukebox Songs and Recipes
You know the scene: May has a backpack full of vegetables, three ghosts waiting for dinner, and no recipe because the record is still gathering dust. Ingredients do not teach recipes. First collect the record, play it on the Edjukebox—the music machine inside the Hall of Records—and continue until the recipe-unlock notice appears. Then check the Recipes tab.
These 12 records cover the route from repairing the Edjukebox through the first South Side houses. The table keeps the record unlock, learned recipe, exact ingredients, station, and final quest use together without mixing them into one municipal stew.
Stations and Prerequisites
- Edjukebox: Reach 20 Confidence, answer the ringing phone behind Town Hall, and follow Gramma Phone into the Hall of Records. Inspect the broken machine, then ask Grandfather Clock to repair it.
- Workbench: This crafting station is inside the red Workshop beside Town Hall. Free Grandfather Clock from the Workshop before relying on it. Its recipe cards say Craft at a Workbench.
- Fabricator: Befriend Bea Miner outside the mine. Speak to her inside and give her the Glastic needed for the mine light. Walk down the newly lit passage, turn left at the bottom, and pick up the Broken Flint Roller. Show it to Grandfather Clock and repair it into the Fabricator. Exit the crafting screen once so the Fabric recipe can appear.
- Range: Repair the front door of the pink house immediately to the right at the bottom of the South Side stairs. Inside, turn back toward the wall beside the door and take the food-truck key. Clean the truck, ask Grandfather Clock to repair its stove, and use Lumboards as fuel. A later Big Bug Battery gives the truck permanent power. Cooking recipe cards say Cook at a Range.

Where the Ingredients Come From
Recipe learning and ingredient hunting are separate jobs. Play the matching record first. Then gather the items shown on that recipe's card:
- Project Box: Craft 1 Project Box from exactly 2 Lumboards at the Workbench.
- Pail Rider: Trade Metametal for Bell Pepper, Pasta Squash, UniCorn, Pomato, Spinachoke, or Egg Plant. Pail Rider waits in the covered nook at the end of the path beyond the fishing dock.
- Recycler: Ask Grandfather Clock to repair the junkyard machine. Feed it junk from trash piles, fishing, and later bowl mining to obtain materials such as Lumboards, Metametal, Plubber, Glastic, and Floof. The result depends on the junk inserted, so one random fishing pull does not guarantee a chosen material.
- Fabric: Make 1 Fabric from exactly 2 Floof after repairing the Fabricator. Exit the crafting screen once after the repair so the Fabric recipe refreshes.
- Petrified Donut: Pick it up from the garbage bags inside the food truck.
- Oil: First inspect the oil tank beyond the repaired stairs beside the South Side woodpile. During the day, ask Madame Pastrami for the bottle fortune; Pop Bottle appears nearby and can give May an Empty Bottle. Return to the red tank along the path between the houses and fill it.
- Fishroom and Porkabella: Before Scout moves in, trade him cooked meals for meatshrooms. After recruitment, Scout delivers meatshrooms to the PanTree. The batch changes between collections, so check again later if Fishroom or Porkabella is absent.
- Pepper Plate: Cook exactly 1 Bell Pepper at the Range to make 1 Pepper Plate. It appears under Non-Food Kitchen Recipes and is a subrecipe for several early meals.
If a Recipe Is Missing
Small hint: Owning a record is not the same as finishing its lesson. The Edjukebox is apparently strict about attendance.
- Open Inventory and confirm that May collected the record.
- Return to the Hall of Records, play the record, and continue until the recipe-unlock notice appears.
- Open Recipes. Check Cooking Recipes, Non-Food Kitchen Recipes, and Crafting Recipes; Pepper Plate is in the middle group.
- For a name-based ghost record, confirm that the house is fully clean and repaired, the ghost remembered a name, and May reported that name to Gramma Phone.
- If the recipe is listed but cannot be made, check its station line. Move to the Workbench or Range, repair the Fabricator when a Fabric subrecipe needs it, and fuel the food-truck Range.
