Unexpected Outcome Walkthrough
Unexpected Outcome looks like a victory lap right up until one returning face refuses to show up and the whole reunion scene turns into a Where's Waldo problem. The trick here is not speed. It is landmarks. This stage is packed with callbacks, familiar characters, and crowd clutter, so searching the middle over and over usually gets you nowhere.
The easiest route is to break the shrine into four pieces: the yellow truck and construction side, the office front, the side gate, and the police/news-van corner. Once you do that, the stage stops feeling like one giant crowd shot.
Yellow truck and construction side
Kenta is cheering near the dump truck, and Kenta's Sister is with the family in front of the yellow truck. Buff Baby belongs by the construction billboard. If you are missing one of the family or callback characters, start here before you search the shrine gate again.
The Great Tanuki is another good reminder that this stage likes odd placements. If one big familiar face is still missing, check the vehicles and rooftops before you assume you somehow skipped an entire crowd.
Office front and side gate
Chisel and Mallet are both in front of the office. Ellie is behind Kate near the side gate. Klay is at the entrance with the yellow-hat kids. These are all easy to miss if you keep searching the center of the celebration instead of the edges and entrances where the stage actually parks people.
News van and police corner
Once the office side is clear, work the corner traffic. The Flower Shop Staff is around the news van, and the Nekoten Staff is watching the police deal with the chaos around the corner. That whole slice of the map reads like background commotion at first, which is exactly why it steals so much time on cleanup.
If the last person still will not show up, stop searching the crowd as a crowd. Search truck, taxi, office front, side gate, news van, and police corner in that order. This stage gets much easier once each of those becomes its own checkpoint.
