Missable Side Quests Before Kuttenberg

This is the point in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II where it is easy to tell yourself the Trosky errands can wait one more quest. Then the journal shifts, the castle moves things along, and one loose task can disappear sooner than you expected. Trosky is still around after Necessary Evil, but Demons of Trosky is the one to watch, so clear the local side content while it is still live.

The timing is the part that catches people. You do not reach Kuttenberg until after Storm, but the cleanup danger starts earlier in Trosky. In this guide, a Task means one of the game's smaller side activities, and a point of no return means a story step that can lock you into main quests or fail local content. Before Kuttenberg, the safest rule is to clear Trosky side content before you finish Necessary Evil, and certainly before you begin For Victory. For Demons of Trosky, several guides and player reports say the later warning can already be too late.

TL;DR: Clear Trosky side content early. Treat Necessary Evil as your real cleanup line, not the warning near For Victory. If Demons of Trosky is still open, finish it first.

Safe Route Before Kuttenberg

  1. Before you go to the wedding in Wedding Crashers, finish The Jaunt. It is tied to the blacksmith route, and later Gules tasks depend on it.
  2. During The Hermit, exhaust Innkeeper Betty's dialogue and do the optional investigation steps. That is how you unlock A Sinful Soul.
  3. If you want Gules's Semine chain, clear Canker, Handsome Charlie, Johnny the Gob, and Casper before you settle Semine's fate in Necessary Evil.
  4. Do Demons of Trosky before you finish Necessary Evil. Do not trust the later cleanup warning around For Victory to save it.
  5. Before any story beat that sounds urgent, make a manual save. If you are not sure what broke, cross the line once, check the journal for new Failed entries, then reload and clean up only those quests first.

Demons of Trosky needs its own warning because it can fail in two different ways. First, guides flag it as missable before the end of Necessary Evil, because one fireplace objective becomes inaccessible when the Knight's Hall locks. Second, community reports describe a separate locked-door problem around the last Maiden Tower fireplace, especially once For Victory is in play. If you are already stuck there, the clean answer is still the old medieval classic: reload an earlier save. On PC, some players report a -devmode teleport workaround, but that is emergency rope, not your route plan.

The Gules and Hermit branches are easier to lose because the trap looks like ordinary conversation. With Gules, the risk is not just delay. If Semine burns during Necessary Evil, that chain can die with it. With A Sinful Soul, the trick is simple but easy to miss: ask Betty everything during The Hermit, follow the optional clues, then press the Hermit with what you learned. That is pure Kingdom Come. Henry gets more by acting like a careful man, not a hurried one.

Quick Future Warning For Kuttenberg

Keep one later note in your saddlebag. In Kuttenberg, Like Old Times is only available during The Lion's Den, so do it when Hans offers it at Devil's Den. Under the Straw Hat spins out of In Vino Veritas once you get hired at the vineyard, so do not leave that wine job half-finished. Later on, Oratores becomes the big Kuttenberg cleanup checkpoint. Finish Sigismund's Camp side work before you push it, because that camp content can disappear once the endgame run starts.
