Ornate Door Answers: Where Did Our Flight Begin?

The flight began at Nilotic al-Ourouba. For the Eighth Trial of Aql in Sietch Ta'lab, match the door's history questions to the planet names below. A wrong answer lets you restart the quiz.

Set each row from left to right. Use the up and down controls to cycle the symbols. The third lesson ends with Sand.

Before You Start the Eighth Trial

You can reach the Eastern Shield Wall with a working vehicle, then lose the trip to one missing Cutteray. Arrakis has a gift for that timing. Finish the first seven Trials of Aql before starting this one. Fill your water supply, and bring a weapon, healing supplies, and a Cutteray to cut through blocked passages. These steps cover the Eighth Trial in Update 1.5.

Find Sietch Ta'lab

Track The Footsteps of the Fremen in your Journey menu. Travel to the border where Mysa Tarill and Jabal Eifrit Al-Gharab meet the Eastern Shield Wall.
Follow the base of the cliff. The entrance is at ground level, inside a narrow break marked by a purple emblem. If you are climbing the wall, head back down.
Enter Sietch Ta'lab, clear any enemies in the first chamber, and approach the ornate door. Multiplayer: If the area is occupied, wait for the Sleeper inside to finish.

Reach the Ecology Room

After the ornate door opens, follow Ari through the sietch. Cut the boulders blocking the route with your Cutteray. Listen to the Solido Projection in the ecology room, then enter the three symbol rows shown above. When all three rows match, the next door opens.

Set the floor rings

In the large hall, use the controls overlooking the three-ring floor. Stand with the ancient deathstill behind you and face the sealed door. From here, the door is at 12 o’clock and the deathstill is at 6 o’clock. The finished layout has one connected groove running from the deathstill, across all three rings, to the door.

Select the inner ring. Turn it one step at a time until its groove connects to the line coming from the deathstill.
Select the middle ring. Turn it until its groove joins the inner ring’s groove.
Select the outer ring. Turn it until its groove joins the middle ring and reaches the sealed door. Check the full path from 6 to 12 o’clock; if a join is broken, adjust that ring one step.
Listen for Ari’s approval, then interact with the ancient deathstill to open the door.

Find the safe, fight, and leave

Enter the secret chamber and let the projection finish. Turn back toward the door you used to enter and check the console to its left for the hidden safe. Interact with it, then take the newly opened route behind the central console. The Maas Kharet attack next. Defeat them before looking for the exit.

The way you came in is blocked. Take the passage beneath the sandworm statue and use the exit interaction. The Eighth Trial is complete when you leave the sietch and your Journey advances to the Epilogue. If the ornate door will not let you begin, check that the Seventh Trial is complete; in multiplayer, another Sleeper may still be inside.
