How to Save and Set Your Respawn Point
With no map or compass, “back to camp” in Deep Dish Dungeon can become three wrong turns and a cold dinner. Set your respawn point before exploring another branch, then use the menu’s save-and-exit option when you finish playing. Those are two separate jobs.
The menu labels and sleeping-bag steps below follow NPC Tips’ beginner guide, labelled Steam build 25955406.
Choose your sleeping-bag respawn point
A respawn point is where you return after dying. The first large hub beyond the opening doors has a campfire, a sleeping bag, and a chest. Use those landmarks to recognize your early base.
- Approach the sleeping bag and interact with it.
- Choose the first option to set it as your spawn point.
- Look for “Sleeping bag saved as a spawn point!” That message confirms your selection; spotting the bag is not enough.
Once that is set, you can focus on learning how the hub’s passages connect and which supplies to bring on your next trip.
Save before ending your session
Open the game menu and choose the exit that matches your plan:
- Save & Exit to Main Menu: saves your progress and returns to the main menu.
- Save & Exit Application: saves your progress and closes the game.
Missing belongings after a death? Saving progress, selecting your return location, and recovering dropped items are separate tasks. Setting the bag does not retrieve your gear. Follow Lost Backpack or Treasure? Steam Recovery Checks and match the checklist to your platform and installed version before choosing a recovery action.
