Water Changes Since the Demo

Your demo shopping list says the water business should work. Your machine has other ideas, and the landlord still wants cash. Before rebuilding that setup in Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim, check your retail version and test a small batch. Water equipment received both price changes and a logic rework after launch.

The opportunity is still spotting value in a cheap batch and turning it into useful stock. Start with what your current equipment can actually produce, then decide whether the next purchase earns its counter space.

Retail water timeline

These are historical patch changes, not guaranteed vendor quotes. Use the offer displayed in your save when planning a purchase. The Normal-only restriction below applies to Dr. Jackson's markup change.

Date and versionWhat changedWhat to check now
October 28, 2026 — 1.0.0.2The Water Purifier machine's logic was reworked. The Moisture Farm price dropped from 650 to 350 Credits, and the Water Filter from 50 to 25 Credits. On Normal difficulty, Dr. Jackson's stock markup dropped from 25% to 15%.Recheck both your equipment budget and expected output. A cheaper machine does not prove that an old treatment recipe still works.
October 30, 2026 — 1.0.0.5The Water Purifier price dropped from 300 to 250 Credits, completing a reduction missed in the previous patch. Water customers gained an explanatory refusal message when a Water Pitcher still contains its Water Filter.Compare the current purchase quote. If a customer asks you to remove the pitcher filter, take it out and retry the offer before buying more equipment.
October 31, 2026 — 1.0.0.6This version added a modding security update and another Menu / Back key binding. Its listed changes did not introduce another water rework.Use this as a dated version checkpoint. If you use mods, check compatibility; some require updates after this patch.

Check your setup before scaling up

  1. Check the installed version and save difficulty. Compare them with the dated changes above before using an older budget.
  2. Read the current vendor quote. Recalculate what you can spend after keeping money for the payments shown in your save.
  3. Read the exact equipment description. The HydraTech Micro Water Purifier is a handheld treatment tool. The Water Purifier is a powered machine that works overnight. Instructions for one do not describe the other.
  4. Inspect the powered machine. Check its input water container, available power and installed modules—the upgrades fitted to the machine—before starting the overnight cycle.
  5. Measure a small batch before and after treatment. Record its volume and purity. Water Testing Strips check purity; AquaScan reveals the liquid's composition. Compare the resulting water with the grade and amount your customer requests before committing more stock.

Keep three old assumptions separate: demo prices are not today's shopping budget, demo mixing ratios are not a current treatment recipe, and demo machine results are not a promise of retail output. The October 28 rework changed Water Purifier logic; it does not give you one replacement formula that guarantees the same result from every batch and module setup.

If your old routine stalls, pause bulk purchases and work with one small batch. Check the setup, measure the result and change one thing at a time. For a refused pitcher sale, remove any attached Water Filter and retry, then check the remaining refusal text against the requested product, grade and volume. That filter check can clear a specific blocker; it cannot fix every mismatch. Keep the rent reserve out of the experiment.
