How Do You Progress to New Areas and Objectives?
In Loddlenaut, progression mostly follows your Objectives (the checklist in your in-game menu) and the equipment/module unlocks those goals lead to. Upgrades are a big deal: they unlock new interactions, open new areas, and give you the special gadgets needed for different pollution types. Some unlocks are milestone-based too. For example, the Global Pollution Tracker unlocks after Ripple Reef, Flotsam Flats, and Tangle Bay, so objective milestones are your most reliable way forward.
If you are not sure what to do next, use this simple loop: check your current objective, clean the path around it, gather nearby plastic and other materials, then head back to craft or upgrade what the objective is nudging you toward. If a task mentions clearing pollution, focus on dense trash piles and goop patches (thick polluted slime on surfaces) near your route instead of drifting far off-course. You will keep momentum without feeling like you need to perfect every corner all at once.
Tip: If you feel hard-stuck, do a quick reset run: return to base, empty your inventory, craft any newly available upgrade, then revisit the previous area and sweep edges, ceilings, and corners for missed trash pieces. Clean objectives can get held at 99% until all tracked pollution is cleared, so one tiny leftover cluster can delay completion.
When a fresh objective appears, pivot to it first, then treat extra cleanup as bonus progress. That one habit helps break the 'why am I not progressing?' loop and keeps your first playthrough smooth.
