Patch #1 Tools, Special Rooms, and Routes Through Foggy Mountains

As new tools and rooms unlock, parcels that once looked complete may need another inspection. Do not guess when an unfamiliar handling mark appears or the boat delivers another pile. Place unfinished parcels on a hold shelf, complete the current reward step, and check them again with the newly unlocked tool or storage room.

Covered progression: This section follows the Windows retail progression seen on a fresh full-game save during the Patch #1 period, ending with the Foggy Mountains reward. Imported demo saves are covered separately below. Patch #1 reduced the parcel piles in the cold and hot rooms, so clearing those piles may take longer on other builds.

How rewards work: The yellow bar at the bottom of the Shift Summary tracks your progress toward the next reward. Earn score by completing work correctly. When the bar reaches the paw marker, choose Next Shift and read each reward card before continuing.

Main Reward Track

StartScale and Port WindyComplete the opening tutorial. Use the scale and wall chart to find the required weight postage, then stage Port Windy mail for the Captain.Port Windy is the first outbound destination.
1Parcel scannerComplete the opening shift, fill the first reward bar, and advance to the next shift. Place outgoing parcels on the scanner conveyor one at a time. The scanner reveals hidden handling traits, starting with fragile and heavy parcels.
2Refrigerated room and Sunny ShoresFill the next reward bar after unlocking the scanner. Collect the room key, open the refrigerated room, and set aside a staging area for Sunny Shores mail.Cold parcels require refrigerated storage, and Sunny Shores joins the outbound routes.
3Crescent BayFill the next reward bar after the refrigerated-room and Sunny Shores tier, then advance to the next shift.Crescent Bay becomes available for outgoing parcels.
4Heated roomFill the next reward bar after Crescent Bay. Collect the room key and open the heated room.Hot parcels require heated storage.
5Revealuna and HazeltonFill the next reward bar after the heated-room tier. Use Revealuna at night and create a separate staging area for Hazelton mail.Revealuna traces linked Lovers parcels at night, while Hazelton joins the outbound routes.
6Tropical DunesFill the next destination reward bar and advance to the following shift.Tropical Dunes becomes available for outgoing parcels.
7Foggy MountainsFill the following destination reward bar and advance to the next shift.Foggy Mountains becomes available for outgoing parcels.

The dark room, light room, and repair workshop are uncovered by clearing physical parcel piles. They are separate from the Shift Summary reward track, so opening one does not replace your next paw-marker reward.

Break Room: Location, Unlock, and Purpose

The Break Room is behind the final section of the main backlog pile. From the customer counter, pass through the door directly behind the service window and follow the back area toward the remaining main pile. The Break Room door may stay almost completely hidden until that pile is nearly empty.

Unlocking the Break Room requires two separate steps. The late reward track gives you the key, while clearing the main backlog makes the door accessible. Getting the key does not remove the pile, and clearing part of the pile does not award the key.

  1. Unlock Home Delivery: Continue filling reward bars after Foggy Mountains until the Home Delivery reward appears.
  2. Earn the Break Room key: Fill the next reward bar, choose Next Shift, and collect the reward labeled Unlocked the Break Room!
  3. Expose the door: Continue serving customers and advancing shifts while removing every available parcel from the main pile.
  4. Open the room: Once enough of the doorway is visible, use the key and enter.

If the pile seems stuck: Move the cursor over its edges and any visible gaps before ending the shift. Players report that the final removable parcels can be hard to spot.

What the Break Room is for: This is a story room, not another parcel-handling or repair station. Entering it completes the old postman storyline. Finishing that story and freeing the old postman awards the hidden A Well Deserved Retirement achievement.

Patch #1 and imported demo saves: Patch #1 fixed a problem that prevented the Break Room key from respawning when a save should already have it. Players on Patch #1 still reported imported demo saves where the cold or heated backlog cleared without providing the dark- or light-room key. If you are deliberately playing that build and encounter this problem, isolate the affected parcels instead of guessing at their handling requirements. On a current Steam installation, update the game before restarting. A later official patch specifically fixed old demo saves that were missing the bright and dark keys.

Night Inspection Spoiler: Revealuna

When a parcel needs its linked partner identified, place it beneath Revealuna after dark and activate the device. Follow the glowing trail to the matching parcel, then apply the Lovers mark to both parcels before returning them to the correct storage areas. Revealuna only works at night, so keep unresolved linked parcels on hold during the day.

What to Recheck After Each Unlock

  1. Scanner: Check every unfinished outgoing parcel on your hold shelf for hidden handling traits.
  2. Refrigerated or heated room: Recheck unresolved parcels, apply the correct cold or hot mark, and place each parcel fully inside its required room.
  3. Dark or light room: Revisit held parcels with unexplained storage requirements and move any matches into the newly opened room.
  4. Revealuna: Save linked parcels for nighttime inspection and mark both members of each confirmed pair.
  5. New destination: Re-read held destination labels, apply the newly available destination stamp, and give the route its own staging area.
  6. Captain check: A prepared parcel is not automatically ready to load. Put it on the boat only when the Captain names its destination for the current trip.

If unexplained damage begins spreading through your shelves, stop moving parcels at random. Clear the scanner, inspect one held parcel, apply its handling mark, and place it fully inside the matching room. The backlog stays manageable when every shelf has one clear purpose.

Scope: The main reward table ends at Foggy Mountains. Home Delivery and the Break Room are included only to explain the late Break Room unlock path; other later progression is outside this section.
