Animals can provide steady, repeat income once you settle into a reliable care routine. A coop holds chickens, ducks, rabbits, and capybaras, while a barn holds cows, sheep, horses, and alpacas. Begin with a small group so you can keep up with feeding, petting, and bringing everyone indoors.

Animal hearts track affection. You can earn heart points by feeding animals, petting them by hand, and letting them outside during clear weather. As affection rises, the number and quality of their products can improve. Golden products can begin appearing at 8 hearts. At 10 hearts, an animal's regular scheduled product is guaranteed to be golden as long as you meet its care requirements. Production tiers and Ranching perks may provide extra items, so your actual income can be higher than a basic one-product estimate.

Daily Care Routine

Feed every animal each day. Coop animals eat Grass Seed or Small Animal Feed, while barn animals eat Hay or Large Animal Feed. Animals outside can also eat grass.
Pet each animal by hand once per day. Powered Animal Sprite Statues can cover the daily petting status in large coops and barns, but petting by hand awards more heart points.
Use clear days for outdoor time. Bad weather lowers affection, and animals left outside overnight will not produce their next item.
Collect products as they become ready. Depending on the animal, this may include eggs, milk, feathers, wool, hair, horns, or bristles.
Place a chest near each animal building. This makes collecting and sorting products much faster.

If you miss part of the routine, simply return to feeding and petting the next day. Ending a day without either action can lower heart points, so avoid adding more animals until you can care for your current group consistently.
