More damage
Attack bonuses add damage. They work best when your cards already match the monster's flavor.
Survival tools
Healing restores stamina. It helps most in longer fights, but short fights may need stronger damage instead.
Take less damage
Shields and damage reduction help you take less damage. Pair them with useful flavor cards so the fight does not drag on.
Damage over time
Poison deals damage over time. It is better in long fights than short fights.
Disrupt
Cards lose value
Burned or smoldering cards can lose value or get destroyed. If this happens often, use fewer weak cards and try to end the fight faster.
Enhancer restriction and flavor shift
Soggy cards cannot be used as enhancers. Soggy can also change Umami and Salty values.
Self-damage risk
Electrified cards can hurt your Caretaker when you play them. Salty cards are more risky with this status.
Card effects turn off
Muted or silenced cards lose their extra effect. Make sure your deck still has useful cards without those effects.
Cards are hidden
Blackout and flipped-card effects hide cards in your hand. Terroreyezer is the boss tied to this problem in the guide. Do not rely on one perfect card if a boss can hide it.
Control
Finding the right answer
Free discards let you skip bad cards without spending stamina. They help you find the card you need.
Draw more cards
Free refills give you more cards to play. They help most when your deck has several strong cards to find.
Fight control
Slow, Weakened, and Evasion can make a hard turn safer. They help, but they do not replace the need for the right flavor.
Change cards or effects
Copy, destroy, and dispel effects change cards or remove effects. Save them for turns where they clearly help.
