going below

I have a dumb question but frustrating to me. I cant figure out what I am doing wrong, on the screens that you have to go to the screen below, I can't seem to get there. I am pressing the down arrow or if that does not work, I press the down arrow and space bar. Please help me to get to the next screen below.
Oh, do you have to get all the kitties before you can go down to the screen?

Hmm, you just press the space bar, wait for the screen to change, and move from there. You don't have to get all the kitties first. If you are still stuck, what level are you on?

I'm having the same problem. I'm on level 12 in the jungle area. The other level, where you go sideways, works just fine. I'm stumped. Any suggestions?
