Apprentice Level 13

Is it just me, or has anyone else had trouble passing this level. The previous 12 were hardly a challenge, but I've been working on this one for days using several different methods, yet I can't get even close to finishing in time! Frustrating! Does anyone have any tips or hints? Thanks!
