I have the bugspray, but my phone doesn't have any bugs and I can't see the inside like pictures show on the walkthrough. Yet I have no dial tone in order to dial it. Why? Please help, I feel stuck.

The reason for no dial tone is because you have to go downstair to the phone box. It's covered in roaches! Spray the nasty things to open the phone puzzle. Solve it to get your dial tone.
