Get the key

After you locate the key with the metal detector, how do you get it out?

I cant get the key out

I also am having trouble getting the key out. I can try with the metal detector, get the blue sparks, but as soon as I click, the detector goes back to the tool section. :-(

It could be a glitch. You have to use the metal detector in the roped off area to get the key. Keep trying by clicking around the areas where you get the sparks, it may be sensitive. Also, try clicking directly with the metal detector and/or directly with the cursor. I'm guessing it's just picky.
