I am trying to get the award for protecting animals from bears during a survival game. I'm assuming you must keep your animals alive for a certain time period.

WHAT I am wondering is, should I restart the game, if I lose animal, or just keep going?

Restart the game. You must not lose any animals for 30 minutes of play. For the building award, you must not let any bears destroy any buildings for one hour of play.
