i can not get the teddy bear under face the last thing and i am stuck

It goes at the bottom of the stairs in Faye's house on the left

I tried to put the teddy bear under the face on the banister directly under and to the left also. It will not fit.

how do i get that teddy bear fron the vines

To get the teddy bear to go under the banister, you have to talk to Lilith and get the 5th potion and add it to the potion book. once completed you will be able to put the teddy bear by the stars
