On the iPod touch with population maxed at 40 I've found that in attempting to increase the Patenting skill of a villager, that usually it will give me a warning message that my game is already at max population. However, sometimes, when the batteries are below 20% power on my iPod, the warning will cease interferring until I close the game. This allows me to just keep dropping villagers atop one another until the Parenting skill is mastered for any, or all, villager(s) in which I choose to max this skill. This bug is great in aiding rapid gains of Esteemed Elder totems before a villager dies. Provided the villager has mastered two other skills...
