Unfortunately, there is not a way to get your children to dig a hole to china that I'm aware of. They do that on their own.

p/u a child and drop him/her on the lawn area just above the fountain a hole will appear and watch as the child kisses and chases the gopher... if you praise him/her as they are doing this, you will get a trophy!
