Alrighty, I've played VV2 and beat it, but it was a LONG time ago, and I forgot how you make the sharp tool to cut away the briar thorns where the gong sits, anyone care to help me out here?

Master scientist and lvl 2 in exploration. Take the master scientist to the right of the rocks and you should see the sharp rock. after that you will need to let him walk to the research table then go back and get the wood and again let him walk then you will get the event that he built it.
