Lately I've noticed that once and i while a master scientist will start…

Lately I've noticed that once and i while a master scientist will start inspecting the ground around the treasure and the caption reads 'sees something interesting...' An then move on. I can't put hem back to do it again. Is this anything? Will something actually happen? (p.s. I've finished it (as far as i know!)).
