Ok...I must have found a bug. I have gotten The druid of agriculture free, so that tells you how far I am. I while back in the game, I planted the beanstalk seeds, but they haven't grown yet, and I have come back three times. Do they grow when I need them, or am i going to be stuck?

Yes, they will have grown when you need to 'melt' something.
