I'm having the same trouble. I click on the hint button and it says to do the tic-tac-toe, but when I click on it nothing appears for me either. Have you figured it out yet? I was wondering if it was a defect in my game or something.
I have this problem too. In other games with this kind of quirk, I've had to uninstall/reload. A pain but the only way to continue. Guess I'll do that here.
It doesn't appear on the screen, turn up your sound and when you mark in one of the boxes you can hear it, when you lose you can hear laughing. You might have to play several times before you beat it.
