Level 39 Activate the teleporter

Level 39 has two stages to activate the teleporter and it is not working, first stage is 3 saphires and 2 workers, fine cause you get 4 saphires and 1 amulet, so that leaves you one saphire and one amulet stage 2 is also 3 saphires, should it not be 1 saphhire and one amulet, or am I doing something wrong?

remove all necklace artifacts from hero and restart game then it will use the 4 gems first build and you just need amulet for 2nd build

OK - that did not work. Any other suggestions?

you must remove all things that reduces upgrade costs. I tried the level three times before it worked.

Thanks! That worked perfectly. I tried half a dozen times but removing all artifacts allowed me to complete the teleporter.
