Are you talking about the white flowers that pop up from the ground? If so, I dont believe that you do jump on them, I think you have to avoid them or you lose armor.

Dont jump on the flowers, wait until they go up and come down once they have come down walk over them, they cannot harm you.

I don't know how to jump on the flowers either, but I do know that wherever they are, I don't get all the enemies on that level and the number of flowers on the level correspond to how many enemies I missed. So there must be some way to kill the flowers. Anyone know?
