I got this game less than a week ago and I'm addicted lol :)
Graphics are highly detailed and stylized Steampunk meets Persian elegance on the cartoony side, but not in a bad way.
You are building an empire in the desert from the ground up. Collecting resources to expand the empire and it's infrastructure.
And along the way you battle pirates, whales, octopus, dragon and a few other nasties in "event" mode.
The map as you build is fully animated and I just geek out every so often and watch all the planes, derigible, trucks, rolls royce move about. And all the mines, factories and power plant churn out finished products. The boats come and go and offload cargo. I particularly like the power plant, it leaves no source of energy untapped. Wind, solar and hydroelectric work in unison! Nice reminder for us all to lower our carbon footprint and get off fossil fuels...high 5 to the designer/developer that put that in!
As for game play there is timed and casual untimed modes. But don't let that fool ya, the levels are challenging, to the point that at some places is a bit infuriating but very much a lot of fun.
There are achievement awards that have progressions to them. My favorite is the "Purist Award" for clearing 50 levels without using a single bonus item. I really liked this because I personally feel that using bonus items is a bit like cheating, or at the very least using shortcuts instead of puzzling it out.
I highly recommend this for all match 3 enthusiasts!
