saving inventory between trips

hi everyone, I am hoping to find a way to travel between places without my factories making chocolates when I've been given a "mission" so to speak. For example I have only so much cocoa in inventory but as soon as I travel to where I need to buy, let's say raspberries the San Fran factory has used my cocoa because it was already making something else. There doesn't seem to be an temporary stop button unless I'm completely missing something. I love the game and find it's great to relax to so any and all help would be great.
