I'm stuck at the entrance to the castle as I can't pick up the sword. Please help!!

iPad, OS updated.

So I apparently ran into the same problem as a lot of folks out there. I just repeatedly tapped on the sword until it was added to my inventory. Kind of annoying...

Super annoying... but thanks so much for the tip!

Tapping doesn't work for me any other ideas

so what is the solution for picking up the sword. I can't either and I am getting annoyed
