Once I have reached day 81...

I am playing in easy mode. By the end of day 80 I have more than the required 300,000 gold coins. When I open day 81, I receive a message that I have not reached my goal for gold coins and ends the game. I am told to try again.

Can anyone please tell me if this is how the easy mode ends, or how I can get past this message.
