How do you increase weakness

Every time my scientist get close to becoming masters they get weak and die, please help

Do you have level 2 or 3 Medicine?

The villagers have an average longer life span for every level you increase.

I just keep making them eat until the are full again then send them back to researching. Keep an eye on their level.
